This text examines the tendency towards conformism and social hypocrisy, which form the indispensable breeding ground for any totalitarian drift. Totalitarian power dictates new codes of social conduct. Ideology freezes discourse in a paranoiac collective delusion. Sectarian reactions are all in the name of “virtues”: the “common good”, “altruism”, “responsibility”, activating the narcissistic ideal of the savior in the human psyche. All these supposed virtues have one and the same function: to make the citizen feel guilty for never being “responsible enough”, never being “altruistic enough”, never sacrificing “enough” for the “Common Good”. Thus, the citizen will find his comfort and narcissistic gratification in the glory of participating in the “Common Good”, for which he is required to sacrifice himself. The article analyzes the initiation ritual as a means of cementing shared guilt and alienating the individual into a collective delusion, in which the aim is to silence in the name of virtue.

In the past four decades, songs have been the object of study in many different fields, namely, in Educational Linguistics. Due to recent advances in technology, the use of songs as authentic documents in the FFL and FSL classrooms has undoubtedly increased in popularity. Conducive to motivation, which in addition invigorates memory and activates the SL/FL acquisition process, the use of contemporary songs not only grounds learning into reality, but also harmonizes linguistic and cultural contents within a practice where (both students' and teachers') pleasure remains predominant. Revisiting the main characteristics which give contemporary songs the authentic document status, providing tools allowing sensible choices to be made while exposing these significant documents in the classroom, and creating pedagogical activities covering the large array of the four language competences are the aims of this article.

The beauty of the Languedoc games, very old, is bound to its codified esthetics, resting on the correctness of the technical gestures with regard to a number of attributes, sequences and ritualized activities. Now, since the 1960s, the adoption of certain tactical or individualistic aspects questions the essence of this esthetics following the sportification, defined as the process of adoption of the values chairing over the practice of sports activities of high competition and the requirements linked to their public expression. As a result, the inflection of the esthetic criteria connected to the production of the show appears as an answer to the constraints of its broadcasting and the new sensibilities of the audiences. Yet, after analysis, it turns out that the original symbolic content is strong enough so that the show of the games preserves for the main part its traditional meaning and esthetics.
