How can one live in the immense São Paulo metropolis where risks are omnipresent? How can one restore the diversity of risky situations experienced by the residents? How can one analyze what living with risk means by emphasizing inhabitants' experience and agency? To begin to answer these questions, we will use the social worlds theory to analyze three emblematic risk situations of cities within the metropolis: Cajamar, an unstructured industrial city composed of favelas; São Sebastião, a coastal town dominated by the first oil terminal in South America; and Condominío Barão de Mauá, a residential complex built on a contaminated area. Our research reveals a contradictory process. Risk shapes the living environment and degrades it more often than not. Meanwhile, residents make multifaceted efforts to maintain and develop the livability of that environment which has been transformed by the social production of risk.

Founded in 1995 by John Zorn, Tzadik is an independent record label that has released more than 700 albums over twenty years, spread across a dozen different collections. In the image of its artistic director, Tzadik is distinguished by its eclecticism and a strong taste for sonic experimentation and hybridization of musical genres. In order to better understand the origins and characteristics of the label, we focused on Zorn's career and personality, reviewing his collaborations with Nonesuch and other labels, recalling the importance he places on the visual content of his albums, and emphasizing his strong connection with Japan, where his current associate Kazunori Sugiyama entrusted him with the direction of the sub-label Avant in 1992.

Les Correspondances d’Eastman, a literary festival held in the Estrie region of Quebec, offers a varied program that includes public readings, author interviews, literary performances, and writing workshops. The festival specifically aims to offer visitors the opportunity to write letters in writing gardens laid out by the citizens of Eastman village. On the one hand, by encouraging all visitors to write, the festival encourages the democratization of literature and creative writing. On the other hand, the festival supports the professionalization of recognized writers by compensating them for their participation in activities and offering them a platform to promote their works and increase their visibility. Based on the tensions underlying these two aspects of the festival, this article aims to explore the roles festivalgoers play in Les Correspondances d’Eastman and to compare them with those of professional writers. The analysis will focus primarily on the interactions between visitors and professional writers, which constantly oscillate between proximity, intimacy, and distance.

This article considers the under-representation of trans persons who specialize in trans issues employed as professors in Canadian universities, with particular attention paid to the case of departments of gender and feminist studies. The research question is : what are the systemic barriers preventing the displacement of the cis-centric subject from the center of francophone Canadian academic feminism, and contributing to the exclusion of trans persons ? This article analyzes these obstacles. The first part demonstrates the presence of cisgenderism in teaching and research, creating a glass ceiling for trans persons in academia. The second studies the absence of trans issues in feminist francophone teaching and research, despite the interest of students in these issues. The third part employs a transfeminist approach to trouble the cisgender normativity of gender and feminist studies and the disciplinary divisions that marginalize trans persons in academia.

Homophobic bullying in schools has major consequences for victims, particularly among sexual and gender minorities. The school psychologist may be called upon to support these students in modes of prevention and intervention. While several studies have evaluated the impact of anti-bullying programs, there are few that describe school psychologists' perceptions of the actions of schools in this context. This study aims to describe the perceptions of Quebec school psychologists regarding homophobic bullying as well as the actions taken by the school to counter it. This article is based on qualitative data from individual interviews of 30 school psychologists, 15 men and 15 women. The results suggest that the main actions against homophobic bullying in schools are thematic weeks against homophobia, diversity awareness, anti-bullying plans and social skills learning programs. It appears that awareness-raising actions against homophobia and bullying, training for school staff, networking groups and standardizing approaches to counter bullying across schools are important measures, according to participating psychologists.
