Research Framework: This article falls within the field of the sociology of conjugality, drawing on the concepts of “conjugal construction” and “conjugal cycle” proposed by Kaufmann (2014), alongside notions of plural and temporal socialization. It explores the representations that Haitian university students develop with regard to marriage and romantic relationships, while analyzing the impact of religious and familial norms on union formation processes. Objectives: The aim of the study is to analyze the affective strategies adopted by young women and men enrolled in a Haitian university, as well as the ways in which they construct their conjugal trajectories and negotiate the social norms associated with their romantic relationships.Methodology: The analysis is based on semi-structured interviews with students at a Haitian university, designed to gather their perceptions, experiences, and life stories relating to conjugality, marriage, and sexuality. Results: The romantic trajectories studied reveal a strong economic and gendered dimension. Faced with the risk of breaking up, young women, in particular, tend to stage their “conjugal seriousness.” The differentiated perception of the “conjugal cycle” also reflects a tension between personal aspirations and gendered social control.Contributions: The article sheds light on the strategies used by young people to position themselves within the matrimonial market and the meanings they attribute to their sexual and romantic practices in Haiti. It also highlights the effects of temporal and moral socialization on the management of romantic relationships in a context of strong normativity.

Research Framework: In France, child protection tends to promote the involvement of fathers and mothers, and more recently that of relatives, in the lives of young people in care. Objectives: Our objective is to understand the temporalities of relative’s involvement in the placement process, and the impact of their involvement on the situation of young people when they come of age.Methodology: Young people aged 17 to 20 at the start of this research were interviewed in five French departments of Ile-de-France and Hauts-de-France. Following an initial questionnaire made to 1,622 young people aged 17-20 year-olds in child protection, a second questionnaire was also given to 501 young people aged 18-19 year-olds. This longitudinal research (ELAP) was followed by two semi-structured interviews with around a hundred young people. In this article, we draw on the comments made in the interviews with those who declared that they had been accommodated by an adult who had played a parental role for them during the initial wave of questionnaires. Results: The periods of parental involvement are either prior to the care, or alternating with it, or overlapping with the placement. Each temporality corresponds to a distinct form of care (substitution for relatives, alternation with the family or delegation to a third party) and is accompanied by the continuation or absence of contact with the father and mother. Conclusions: In cases where family ties are maintained, mainly in the last two forms (alternation or delegation), the young person is more inclined to leave the child protection system without mobilizing care arrangements between the ages of 18 and 21, in contrast to cases where child protection is their only option.Contribution: This article provides an analysis of the temporalities and forms of mobilizing parental figures in the extended family, described by young people leaving child protection. It may be useful in considering the developments brought about by the 2022 reform

Research framework : Mothers and gender-diverse parents with chronic pain have their own unique social experiences. In addition to having to juggle a double working day ( double journée de travail ), they also experience particular temporalities. They find themselves at the confluence of crip and gendered time. The crip time concept helps to illustrate the different experiences of people with different abilities in relation to time. Objectives : This article aims to provide an initial link between crip and gendered temporalities, to understand how the experience of chronic pain can influence different experiences of motherhood and parenthood, and how social structures can influence the temporalities of mothers and a non-binary parent with chronic pain. Methodology : Data collection was based on semi-structured interviews with parents with chronic pain. The interviews were analyzed thematically. Results : The results highlight the fluidity of the boundary between the crip and gendered temporalities experienced by participants. Mental load, care and the double working day add complexity to disabled temporalities. Conclusions : Analysis of the results shows the limits of the double working day and the gendered nature of care, which add constraints for the participants when they need to take care of themselves and rest to limit their pain.Contribution : The concept of crip time is relatively new and underdeveloped in the French-speaking world. This article contributes to the development of francophone knowledge on crip time while allowing an alliance between feminist studies and disability studies.

In this interview, Elisa Bricco talks to writer Benoît Vincent about the transformations that have taken place over the last twenty years as a result of the technological turn in literary production. We look at the repercussions of technology’s hold over literary production, and in particular at the development of the notion of author in the context of collective writing. The example of the Général Instin project will be used to highlight some of the issues raised by digital technology in relation to the production of literary texts.

The purpose of the present study was to determine whether there was a relationship between adherence to gender stereotypes (GS) and attitudes and behaviors toward sexual consent (SC) among a diversified Quebec emerging adults group (N = 506). The results indicate a positive association between adherence to female and male GS and these components of SC. Also, individuals would differ in their adherence to GS according to their gender and sexual orientation. Finally, gender minority people, women, and LGBQ+ individuals would show more favorable attitudes and behaviors toward CS.

In recent years, a small number of researchers have become interested in the experiences of workers with disabilities in balancing their work and personal lives. However, to date, no literature has focused on their conceptions of work-life balance. To fill this knowledge gap, the authors conducted a study carried out among fourteen workers with severe and very severe motor disabilities. This article presents and summarizes that study as follows: It begins by pointing out that most of these workers attach a certain importance to this balance in their lives, which generally increases from mid-career onwards. It then presents the dimensions and conditions that foster the experience of this balance in terms of four main components: 1) satisfaction, 2) time, 3) energy and 4) money. It then explores the particular properties of work-life balance among workers with disabilities, namely that it is accessible but evanescent, precarious, variable, complex and subject to negotiation. The participants explain this situation by the fact that they conceive this phenomenon not as a fundamentally individual reality but as the result of constant negotiations taking place with 1) oneself, 2) one's partner, 3) informal and formal support networks and 4) one's work environment.

The aim of the study is to assess the association between therapists' individual characteristics and their ability to detect therapeutic alliance withdrawal and confrontation ruptures, taking into account the level of clinical experience. Personal dispositions such as attachment, self-awareness, emotional intelligence and empathy were synthesized into two higher order factors, emotional reactivity and emotional awareness. Overall, the results suggest that these two factors are positively associated with detection performance in the experienced group, but not in the inexperienced group. They promote the establishment of personalized training to improve the detection capacity of therapists.

This article aims to analyze the publicization of debates on public policy orientations, sociotechnical choices, and alternative solutions proposed by stakeholders to address situations of drought and water scarcity. It takes the case study of the state of Arizona (USA), where these situations are becoming more frequent and severe. The analysis combines qualitative data from interviews and field observations with the analysis of actor networks, discourse collected from the local daily press and Twitter messages. It appears that political and economic positions have decisive consequences for the distribution of water resources. Lastly, the article demonstrates how statements and discourses, when linked to field surveys, represents a major source for assessing the spatiotemporal configurations of drought episodes and determining the risks and measures that are a cause for concern to societies and are, therefore, the subject of public debates.
