The ever-changing digital context, digital habits and pressures, demands and practices, often contribute to online learners experiencing burnout, stress, fatigue, sleep deprivation, cognitive overwhelm, and work-life imbalance, just to mention a few issues identified in literature. With the rise of online learning offerings, an increasing number of educators across diverse contexts and disciplines are faced with questions pertaining to the optimal experience and design for online learning. Current research has highlighted both positive and negative impacts of teaching and learning in the digital space. This online learning design debate has identified a need for practices that contribute to the holistic wellbeing of learners rather than merely cognitive outcomes. There is a need for an evidence-based pedagogical framework centred on wellbeing that enables the creation of learning “by design”. This research, applying secondary data analysis and a mindfulness-informed lens, results in such a framework, i.e., the DW-FOLD: Digital Wellness Framework for Online Learning – to guide intentional use of technology and online learning pedagogical principles that ensure active and meaningful learning while using technology for the good of all learners.

Although research shows that information sources play an important role in career choice, few studies investigate the career information seeking behaviour of young adults with a multivariate approach of factors associated with the choice of information sources. This study is aimed at identifying the factors associated with young adults’ career information seeking behaviour in a sample of 1,400 young adults in the province of Quebec, and the information sources they used when collecting information on jobs, career possibilities, further education or training. Results show that more than half of respondents consulted two sources or more and that the most used information sources are personal relationships and educational institutions. The discussion highlights that young adults actively seek information regardless of their school attendance status. It underscores the importance of close relationships—such as family and friends—as key sources of information, and calls for tailored strategies to disseminate information that reflect the diverse needs and characteristics of different groups of young adults.

With the rapid evolution of online learning, driven by technological advancements and the global transition to distance education during the COVID-19 pandemic, the demand for effective instructional design models has become increasingly critical. This study conducted a systematic mapping analysis of instructional design models tailored for online learning environments to offer a comprehensive classification and evaluation of these models. The analysis delved into the theoretical underpinnings, practical applications, and implications for educators and instructional designers. Models were categorized based on instructional conditions, desired learning outcomes, and theoretical-methodological frameworks, and thus provided a structured approach to understanding their relevance and effectiveness. The findings underscored a paradigm shift from traditional, content-centric frameworks toward adaptive, learner-centered designs that emphasize motivation, social interaction, personalization, and technological integration. Additionally, this study offered practical recommendations for selecting and implementing models that align with the dynamic needs of learners and supported future advancements in instructional design, to foster innovation and effective learning in diverse educational contexts.

This qualitative case study aims to investigate the concept of multifunctionality in agriculture based on the theoretical framework of Wilson (2007, 2009). The case studied is the Maria-Chapdelaine regional county municipality, in the Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean administrative region, in the province of Quebec, in Canada. Individual and group research interviews, participant observations, as well as a literature review were performed during 2023-2024. Our results suggest a good recognition of the multiple functions of agriculture by the participants. On the other hand, most feel they need to increase their knowledge on the subject. The concept of multifunctionality in agriculture proved to be difficult to grasp for several respondents, which complicated the identification of functions. We suggest that future research uses a methodological approach that is as non-prescriptive as possible to facilitate the identification of diverse functions.

For years, the Russian authoritarian regime has been seeking to expand its surveillance capacity and collect information on the whole population. The arrival of digital services has made it possible to collect vast amounts of data on their users. Since digital services are frequently designed to assist with various mundane tasks, state-affiliated individuals can also use them, sharing a range of personal data. In Russia, a legal framework has been developed to oblige private digital companies to share collected data with investigative and intelligence agencies. Simultaneously, the collected data, including data on the powerful, may not be adequately protected and, therefore, can be hacked and leaked, thus facilitating sousveillance. This paradox is at the centre of this study, which explores it via the example of the Yandex.Eda, a food delivery service, leak and its use by investigative journalism. This paper, drawing on the concepts of authoritarian surveillance assemblage and mundane surveillance, portrays how authoritarian regimes, through the means of law, engage private digital services in the mundane surveillance of the population. Additionally, the paper draws on the concepts of sousveillance and assemblage of resistance to explore how data leaks from mundane digital services collaborating with authoritarian regimes can stimulate investigation into state actors’ corruption through the work of leaktivism and investigative journalism. The paper shows that although high-profile political actors did not appear in the leak, people closely related to them, along with some lower-ranking special services agents, did. This paper argues that precisely because the app has a mundane nature and sharing personal data with it facilitates its use, these actors left some pieces of their personal information there. In turn, this data sharing has contributed to sousveillance over them.

The pandemic has significantly impacted many sectors of life, including higher education. The COVID-19 outbreak created significant challenges for students and lecturers, forcing them to adjust to online learning and teaching. They developed specific strategies to tackle the challenges and study normally. This study investigated the obstacles students and lecturers faced during COVID-19 online learning and teaching in a private university in Afghanistan and a public university in Indonesia. Furthermore, it explores the strategies applied during the pandemic's requirement of creating new educational environments. In addition, it compares the students' and lecturers' experiences in online learning and teaching in both countries. To obtain the data, the study employed openended questionnaires using Google Forms, which were distributed through WhatsApp and emails to students and lecturers in a public university in Indonesia and a private university in Afghanistan. Data analysis used the onlineengagement framework for higher education, filtering and generating themes into concepts. This study found that during COVID-19, both Indonesian and Afghan students and lecturers faced several hurdles and challenges. Yet, the strategies that they applied differed according to each country's social and developmental contexts. Identifying the challenges and the online teaching and learning strategy provides practical understanding for students, lecturers, and universities.

The texts of primary and secondary school students show a high proportion of written errors related to punctuation (Boivin and Pinsonneault, 2018, among others). Yet punctuation instruction often offers students only limited opportunities to improve their control of sign usage in a writing context (Riverin and Dufour, 2018). This article presents a quasi-experimental study involving 16 French classes from cycle 3 of primary school and cycle 1 of secondary school in Quebec (age 10 to 13). Students in the experimental groups carried out a sequence of 20 activities implementing three innovative didactic devices, designed during a first phase of the research, in collaboration with the participating teachers. The aim was to improve punctuation and syntax in writing. We will present results drawn from the analysis of short texts written at pre-test and post-test (two texts at each time: one descriptive and one narrative) in the experimental and control groups, in relation to success variables in segmentation into graphic sentences (capital letter & full stop), and in punctuation within graphic sentences and syntactic sentences (clauses, i.e. subject + predicate (+ sentence adverbial(s)), for some comma usage rules.
