In order to commemorate the centenary of Robert-Lionel Séguin's birth (1920-1982), Rabaska has gathered a number of scholars who each present an aspect of his research legacy. The contributions of Paul-Louis Martin, Jeanne Pomerleau, Sophie-Laurence Lamontagne, Laurence Provencher-St-Pierre, Louis-Edmond Hamelin, Michel Côté and Nathalie Boudreault fill the pages of this section devoted to fieldworkers. From each one's particular disciplinary viewpoint, we obtain a portrait of this pioneer in ethnohistorical research in Québec. Robert-Lionel Séguin's work has become a true school of knowledge and his archival collection is a huge repository of Québec material culture that is now based in Trois-Rivières's folk culture museum, the Musée Pop. This collection is of national significance. It has a unique status as a benchmark in the field of material culture and is a recognized national heritage in Québec.
