Jules Falquet proposes to read together the french sociologist Colette Guillaumin and the argentine philosopher María Lugones, in order to go further in the elaboration of a decolonial materialist feminist analysis. After summing up the central ideas of their respective theorization of race and sex, Jules Falquet highlights the common historic dimension of their analysis, which is based on the understanding of the european colonization process of Latin America and the Carribbean, including the transatlantic trafficking and slavery. Then, Falquet proposes the image of the “communicating vessels”, and the “straight bind” concept, as tools that allow an interlocking analysis of sex, race and class and to revisit the history of the installation and developpement of the capitalist mode of production, based on the colonial history of the two continents

Med Culture (2014–2019), the European Union (EU) regional program dedicated to culture in Southern Mediterranean countries, aims at "supporting culture as a vector of democratization and development," and encouraging reforms in cultural policies. Responding to the desire of Jordan's Ministry of Culture to develop a national cultural strategy, the Med Culture Technical Assistance Unit suggested implementing a process that included a series of consultations that would bring together authorities and independent cultural players. Through a thick description of the process and an approach that focuses on the sociology of the actors, this paper aims to identify the social effects of this European program on relations between the different stakeholders involved.

This article presents an analysis of the appearance and formation of federalized supranational institutions, from a public administration viewpoint. We start by analyzing three conceptual tools: the principle of national sovereignty, the principle of subsidiarity, and public administration theory. We develop a theoretical model based upon these three conceptual tools, and we test it by studying the European Union. Finally, we draw conclusions from the case analysis, and we identify limits and possible improvements to the model.

Dominique Glaymann (Université de Paris XII - Largotec), in the second article, entitled The Evolution of Employment Standards in France, attempts to distinguish the main changes that occurred in employment standards during the final 25 years of the 20th century, and then goes on to suggest an interpretive analysis that attempts to identify the meaning (and the direction) of these mutations. She articulates her analysis within the theory of regulation (Paris School), and questions the very viability of the employment system - the relationship to work changes, with often negative effects on identity building, mobilization and engagement, in a manner that goes beyond productivity. Is this effective ? Will the fear of long-term unemployment and hopes for hypothetical jobs encourage wage earners to maximize their productivity for a lengthy period of time ? And what of the current fashionable concepts in human resources management theories, such as “corporate culture,” the “attachment” of wage earners to their company or their work, or to “teamwork ?”

Identification with a newborn baby can revive primitive traumas in the parent. Due to their un-symbolized form, the transmission of these silent traumatic zones of experience can have deadening effects. This paper examines how the birth of a child can reveal the existence of breaks in the historical narrative, as the baby reawakens split-off distress and mobilizes help to deal with unconscious pressures. A clinical vignette illustrates how the awakening of primitive trauma results not in the classical projection of fantasies, but in unconscious repetition within the therapist him- or herself of aspects of the primitive distress. The author calls upon the work of Benedetti and the theory of psychosis to explore these unusual transferential configurations. Whether the therapist has the capacity to tolerate such death-infused zones in the experience of the baby and his/her parent is key to advancing the process. Experiences with the baby can help pick up the chronological thread and build a narrative where unprocessed traces of experience awaiting meaning can find their place. The author extends her thinking to the current world situation, questioning the impact of unconscious transmissions on birth and death experiences during these pandemic times and appealing for thoughtful consideration of families' difficulties during this historical sanitary crisis.

In this article, the authors trace a project to build four solar-powered houses on the campus of Manitou College in La Macaza, Quebec. Launched in 1973 and partially completed in 1975, this project had several objectives: to develop new modes of renewable energy consumption ; address the precariousness of Indigenous housing ; adapt prototypes to the cultural specificity of targeted Indigenous communities; meet certain objectives of social inclusion and training of Indigenous students in the building trades. Based on the project's archives and in-depth interview with Innu architect Guy Courtois, in charge of the sole prototype build, the authors uncover the tensions that surfaced during the various phases of development and construction. The article suggests explanatory avenues to assess the degree of adequacy between the stated objectives, the projected prototypes and the one finally built.

Vladimir Putin's insane assault on Ukraine makes Russia the worst of the rogue states. Shattering the Ukrainian democratic experiment, the Russian dictator intends to subjugate all the populations of the former Soviet empire, control the international energy and agricultural markets and distribute prebends. Along with weapons and sanctions, information will determine the outcome of the conflict. May Ukraine join the European Union! How was it determined whether a story or news item about America should find a place in the Mercure galant in the time of Louis XIV? The ordinary internal workings of the privileged periodical remain, unfortunately, particularly opaque. In this article, three points of observation provide an insight into the issues surrounding the publication of these texts. The writing practices of short story writers close to the editor Donneau de Visé, the documentary practices of the Secretary of State for the Navy, and the publication practices of Dutch periodicals are analysed in their interactions with the Mercure. In particular, the author presents the work of writers who adaptated to the expectations of the authorities and that of gatekeepers who decided whether a text should be published.

This article aims to understand the emergence and development of inclusive human resource management (HRM) in SMEs. The concept of inclusion refers to the professional fulfillment and recognition of employees (Bonneveux et al., 2020). This form of HRM has an integrative aim insofar as it offers the possibility of improving collaboration, particularly between the manager and his employees. In this perspective, we have mobilized in an original way Mauss's logic of gift, coupled with the literature on HRM in SMEs in order to propose a new reading grid. Based on the emblematic case of an SME, a longitudinal qualitative study was conducted over a period of 8 years.
