This article looks at the ethnographic research process of the first author, who, as part of her doctorate in social work, focused on Nunavik's conceptualizations and experiences of so-called "psychotic" phenomena within the dominant mental health paradigm. The results presented in the article, based on several months of interviews and participant observations with Inuit, invite reflection on practices and attitudes that to this day still constitute manifestations of a colonial posture in mental health intervention. We propose to broaden our ways of understanding psychotic phenomena, to move towards collaborative intervention with the Inuit, with the people dealing with so-called psychotic phenomena, their families and the people who work with them.

This article examines the possibility of introducing a functional equivalent of the doctrine of unforeseeability (imprévision) in Quebec law in light of the Supreme Court of Canada's 2018 decision in Churchill Falls (Labrador) Corp. v. Hydro-Québec. While the Court unequivocally confirmed that the doctrine of unforeseeability is not recognized in Quebec law, it also acknowledged that similar outcomes may be achieved through other means available at civil law. The author begins with a descriptive analysis of unforeseeability, drawing on comparative insights, to highlight its defining features. Building on this overview, the author then shows how the general duty of good faith might form the basis for judicial intervention in cases of unforeseeability, and examines the parameters of such intervention. Despite recent judicial skepticism, the author argues that a certain form of the doctrine of unforeseeability has a promising future in Quebec civil law.

For a few decades, anthropologists have been debating the need to establish other international flows and exchanges of scholarly knowledge. Similarly to what we do with other globalizing pretensions, it is necessary to take into consideration the knowledge already accumulated within this debate, its possibilities and constraints. Here the changes in global anthropology are seen in relation to the national level of integration and to hegemonic internationalization which generate structural limitations to the practices of anthropologists, in spite of the existence of a universalizing trend that is typical of the discipline. The notion of cosmopolitics is used to deal with the problems inherent to the pluralist integration of the discipline. It helps to devise, from a different angle, the dilemmas and challenges we face. The World Anthropologies Network and the World Council of Anthropological Associations are presented as initiatives that aim to stimulate pluralism within global anthropology. Can we debabelize anthropology? Can we have a truly diversified global anthropology?

The historic Silk Roads, which have connected East and West for centuries, have always had fundamental political, economic, and cultural dimensions. It is interesting to witness the reactivation of these roads, especially by China, just as the heirs of the three other historic empires of these roads (Ottoman, Persian, and Russian) are resurging in new forms and as part of a longer history. The question is whether this re-emergence of the Silk Roads will contribute to a balance of peace-producing powers or prove to be an element of further disturbance in a world already undergoing deep reconfiguration. One thing seems evident: the past and present existence of the Silk Roads act in a peripheral position occupied by Europe in the Eurasian space. As a first step, we will return to the imaginaries related to the Silk Roads in order to contextualize the ultimately marginal role that Europe could play. Then, we will see how the current roads also contribute to a peripheralization of Europe.
