With the coronavirus crisis, remote nature destinations like Chilean Patagonia are worried of a possible collapse of tourism. Local communities, frightened by the risks of welcoming visitors, are withdrawing and protecting themselves. Entrepreneurs hope for a rapid return to “normality” in an area relatively untouched by COVID-19 but they fear the end of the tourism boom, as flying will remain an anxiety-provoking issue in a post-pandemic situation. These destinations have to refocus their offer in order to capture a national clientele, but this seems an unprofitable challenge for isolated areas. While entrepreneurs are refining their marketing plans and government services are establishing their secure reception protocols, leaders of ecological and conservation tourism projects along with rural tourism and leisure migration stakeholders are highlighting their assets. The current crisis could put an end to mass tourism, hypermobilities, projects based on high profitability and overtourism in iconic places. In that sense, the present global socioenvironmental crisis is an opportunity to rethink our relationship with nature and seek ways to strengthen local tourism systems, conceived as places to live and based on environmentally friendly rural economies, cultural, scientific, and traditional exchanges, attractive both to national and foreign visitors.

The technoscientific and industrial progress of the past century continues to weigh heavily on the development of subjectivities as well as on the mechanisms of socialization. In psychoanalysis, some authors speak of a great disturbance. We would witness the birth of an infantile narcissistic neo-subject incapable of transmitting anything, because he too has not learned from his parents how to appropriate the tools of language and culture. Living in the fantasy of a “limitless” world, this neo-subject even rejects any symbolic debt to mankind. At school, these perverse forms mark intersubjective relationships in the same way as the conditions of intervention. It is impossible to constrain, limit and supervise when the parent no longer trusts and no longer recognizes the legitimacy of authority in the school environment. Jean-Pierre Lebrun speaks of ordinary perversion. In reference to the therapeutic society which presents itself as neutral and benevolent, we have chosen to use the concept of “mèreversion” (“motherversion”). Because a paradox never comes alone, we have also chosen to analyze three UNESCO reports grouped under Horizon 2030, because they bear witness to a radical change in the ways of conceiving and prescribing a so-called progressive education around ICT and Artificial Intelligence. We believe that recent socio-cultural and structural transformations, politically on the left and on the right, open the door to various forms of control and violence in the ways of “schooling”.

Without making an evaluative and comparative analysis of the traditional arguments, we would want to examine the reference of the voluntary servitude when it is used to denounce an illusion of increase of the freedom of the individual, by means of information and communication technology. Basing on the original version (16e s.), is this reference justified ? In this paper, we would like to show that if there is a structure of the voluntary servitude, the debate between the defender of the information and communication technology and their opponents, involves thinking the relation between the humanity with the technology.
