The purpose of this study was to examine the links between the participants' knowledge about sexual stereotypes, sexual behavior and realities of lesbian, gay and bisexual youth, on one hand, and their attitudes towards homosexuality and bisexuality, on the other hand. Eighty-two Quebec students from different bachelor's programs in Secondary Education answered a questionnaire composed of two scales of 51 and 14 items to identify their knowledge and their attitudes respectively. Descriptive statistics showed that these future teachers knew little about the three topics evaluated and that their attitudes toward homosexual and bisexual people were “more or less positive”. In addition, correlational statistics showed a positive link between knowledge about sexual stereotypes, sexual behavior and participants' attitudes. In conclusion, the study suggests new ways to improve training programs for future teachers.
