The context of the health crisis has changed the landscape of educational modalities. In this article, we propose to explore the hybridization of these modalities and more precisely the way in which co-modality can be thought of as an enabling environment for learning, through the prism of the satisfaction concept. After defining pedagogical co-modality and the concept of satisfaction in training, this article describes an exploratory study carried out on a simultaneous remote/present co-modality device. The results show that the remote versus present modality in the co-modal device had no impact on the perception of multimodal satisfaction. However, significant differences are observed on measures of technical satisfaction and quality of interactions. The implications are discussed to shed light on the enabling design of this type of training device.

In this article, we focus on factors of technology adoption in teacher training institutions in Costa Rica. Based on Rogers' diffusion of innovation theory (2003), we conducted semi-directed interviews with professors, program managers, and ICT managers from two Costa Rican universities. We show that the factors of adoption or resistance to technologies are both related to the organization (external) and to individuals (internal). On the other hand, university professors prefer more conventional instruments and offer some resistance to the latest technologies.

A new classification of the retail sector of Pretoria. — Over the past thirty years the retail sector of Pretoria has grown considerably. It has also changed in character through the emergence of many shopping centres of different type and size. In order to be able to evaluate applications for the erection of new centres in terms of their proposed location, size and character, a new retail classification had to be created, which was not restricted to central place theory only as theoretical foundation. A large retail survey, held early in 1998, provided the data for the classification and analysis of the spatial distribution of formal retailing. For this Maplnfo™, a desktop mapping package, and Vertical Mapper™, a spatial analysis tool, were utilised. In Pretoria retail hierarchies exist at various levels and a distinction could be made between nodes, axes and streets as well as size types of retail districts. Differences in social class and household density play an important role in the provision of shopping facilities. The most significant development is the emergence of a retail corridor in the higher income southeastern sector, which is dominated by three large reticulary collections of retail and office concentrations, whereas the CBD is increasingly oriented at lower income groups.

The authors present an assessment of Rhodanian Languedoc over the period 20000/ 13000 BP. They show the originality of the regional Upper Palaeolithic, on the border of an eastern, Gravettian world, and a western, Magdalenian world. The regional sequence, more complex than appeared from earlier studies, in no way conforms to a long linear process, in the manner of a slow mutational evolution from the Solutrean towards the Late Magdalenian.

Research objective: This article examines the sustainability of communities of practice (CoP), which are typically considered through deterministic approaches, using the theoretical framework of the commons. By analogy, this article proposes to analyze CoPs as organizations and organizing. This approach should identify the internal conditions for the reproduction of a CoP. The objective of this research is thus to understand the conditions of self-organization and sustainability of a CoP. Methodology: To do so, we use a mixed methodology. After a qualitative study of several months observing and analyzing two CoPs, we rely on a quantitative study of seven CoPs within a company, MUTUALIS. A questionnaire analyzing the organization and organizing of CoPs was sent to members. 76 responses were retained and analyzed with SMART PLS. Contribution: While this article identifies the potential for internal reproduction of CoPs and therefore sustainability, it also emphasizes that this remains partial through instrumental use. The more instrumental it is, the more CoPs minimize their organizational reproduction and self-organization. To overcome this limit, the framework of the commons ultimately proposes an integrative approach to the organization of a self-organized collective action that leads us to think about democratization at a multi-level scale. Finally, this study demonstrates the imperative of a more general organizational transformation of the company that cannot be reduced to sporadic devices or communities.

This paper presents a genetic analysis of the French translation of Antonio Tabucchi's novel Tristano muore by Bernard Comment. The analysis is based on the study of the Italian text typescripts and proofs from which the translator worked, as well as on the translation's rich genetic archives. In the first section, we will show that the lengthy gestation of the Italian text, manifest in a number of archival documents, had an impact on the translation; in the second section, we will shed light on the translator's thinking and writing processes regarding one of the source text's most difficult challenges, namely its extensive intertextuality.

Over the past few years, Quebec, as elsewhere, has seen a proliferation of web-based mapping applications produced by various research teams. Designed as knowledge transfer tools, these customized applications are often based on free, opensource solutions. Such an approach to deploy map related applications offers great flexibility both in terms of application design and the implementation of cartographic, data mining and navigation functions. The aim of this article is primarily methodological. It aims to describe the deployment of a new web application, the Géolocalisateur d'entreprises de Lanaudière. To this end, the spatial data used, the innovative microservices-based architecture and the application's functionalities are extensively discussed.
