The prevalence of post-COVID telework requires a study of its various aspects, particularly the relational ones, and their impacts on teleworkers. It is thought that teleworking impoverishes both formal and informal exchanges at the expense of the workers’ wellbeing (Ruiller et al., 2017). This study of telework post-COVID investigates the link between the quality of relationships with colleagues and supervisors and psychological well-being at work, as well as the moderating effects of job seniority and the number of teleworking days per week. The study, using a self-reported questionnaire, was conducted with 123 workers who telework at least one day a week. The following were questioned: the quality of relationships with colleagues (TMX; Seers et al., 1995), the quality of relationships with superiors (LMX-MDM; Liden et Maslyn, 1998) and psychological well-being while teleworking (PWB; Dagenais-Desmarais, 2010), as well as the number of teleworking days per week, and the number of years of professional experience. Results from moderations showed that the higher the quality of relationships with co-workers and the supervisor during teleworking days, the more workers thrived, felt competent, and had a willingness to commit, especially when the number of days teleworked was high. The results suggest, among other things, that offering intensive teleworking would only make sense if relationships with co-workers and the supervisor remain of good quality during the teleworking periods

For many researchers in adult education, it is important to have a good understanding of the field in order to better imagine the future of adult education. As in many fields, the role of women has not always been highlighted. Over time, it becomes more and more difficult to tell a story that includes women’s contributions because few written archives document their agency. This study applies oral history methodologies to collect the testimonials of four women contributors to adult education. By analyzing and interpreting their journeys, we identified the following themes: alliances between adult education and women’s movements, the collective dimension of testimonials collected that lead to social transformation, and the pedagogical potential of collecting, interpreting, and sharing the oral histories of people who may be rendered invisible by history.

This article presents results from a collaborative action research study involving school leadership teams from Francophone minority settings in Western Canada. It is from these practitioners’ (n=63) points of view that a comparative picture of the impact of COVID-19 on the management and leadership practises during this extraordinary health crisis is drawn. These management teams’ tasks are presented according to the theoretical concepts of management and leadership and then particular considerations during this crisis context are discussed. The questionnaire focused on the elements of management, on the relationships between the stakeholders and on the health and well-being of the management teams. Herein, only the results of the first two aspects of the questionnaire are presented and discussed. Results reveal a strong consensus around management and leadership functions associated with the need to preserve and support staff well-being, ensure regular and constant communication, encourage and motivate teachers, and revise schedules to ensure the proper functioning of the school.Certain characteristics were found to influence certain results, such as positions held, gender, and location and size of schools. The nature of the relationships between some stakeholders, particularly the departments of Education and members of the management teams during the pandemic, were noticeably adversely impacted compared to others. The support received from staff, co-workers, family, and close friends more than made up for the shortcomings elsewhere.

Impostor syndrome is characterized by feelings of inauthenticity and illegitimacy among high-achieving and deserving individuals. Our study set out to determine the prevalence of this phenomenon within a population of master’s students of Maghrebi origin in Belgium and France. We considered the impact of racism as experienced through micro-aggressions and minority stress, as well as the influence of gender and first-generation status on perceptions of not belonging. Our quantitative methodology used an online questionnaire incorporating multiple rating scales that had previously been tested in the literature. Descriptive analysis allowed us to demonstrate the widespread presence of high levels of impostor syndrome among the individuals in our sample (62.9%). Meanwhile, inferential analysis shed light on how underlying factors—the experience of racism and minority stress—exacerbated impostor syndrome among master’s students of Maghrebi origin. However, we found that neither first-generation status nor gender played a statistically significant role. Our findings highlight the importance of addressing the issue of impostor syndrome within the social contexts of young people with an immigrant background, along with considering the need for introducing measures to promote the inclusion and well-being of such students at French and Belgian universities.

AbstractProductivity growth in the U.S. economy jumped during the second half of the 1990s, a resurgence that many analysts linked to information technology (IT). However, shortly after this consensus emerged, demand for IT products fell sharply, leading to a lively debate about the connection between IT and productivity and about the sustainability of the faster growth. We contribute to this debate in two ways. First, to assess the robustness of the earlier evidence, we extend the growth-accounting results in Oliner and Sichel (2000a) through 2001. The new results confirm the basic story in our earlier work – that the acceleration in labor productivity after 1995 was driven largely by the greater use of IT capital goods and by the more rapid efficiency gains in the production of IT goods. Second, to assess whether the pickup in productivity growth is sustainable, we analyze the steady-state properties of a multi-sector growth model. This exercise generates a range for labor productivity growth of 2 percent to 2 ¾ percent per year, which suggests that much – and possibly all – of the resurgence is sustainable.
