Several factors can influence the effectiveness and productivity of work teams, including citizenship behaviours. The study examines the relation between supervisor leadership and the citizenship behaviours of the subordinates in the team. The participants are 288 adults who work in various organizations. The results of regression analyses support the idea that transformational leadership is positively related to citizenship behaviours in the team. Transactional leadership and laissez-faire leadership are not related to citizenship behaviours in the team. These results tend to confirm the importance of the supervisor's transformational leadership in understanding the success of workplace teams, and consequently, organizations.

AbstractThe objectives of this study were to determine the frequency of adjustment disorders in psychiatric hospital and to establish the clinical and evolutional profiles of these disorders. A descriptive and retrospective study with approximately 115 patients hospitalized a first time in a psychiatric setting of the university hospital of Monastir in Tunisia for adjustment disorders according to the DSM-IV. The frequency of adjustment disorders in a psychiatric hospital was estimated at 11,8 %. The majority of patients were young (65,3 % between 16 and 20), female (60,9 %), of low professional and socio-economical status, and without any psychiatric history (59,1 %). The acute appearance of adjustment disorders caused by psychosocial stress factors which were usually various (60 %), recent (61,7 %) and with a high severity (69,6 %). The suicide attempts were frequent (53 %) representing the first reason for hospitalization. An evolution was favourable in 75,7 % of cases after a short hospitalization (about 8,2 days). Finally, the authors insist on the short hospitalization in order to provide evaluation, observation and treatment setting for these disorders.

In the current context, it is important to use methodologies that facilitate the consultation of citizens concerned by specific issues. For this purpose, it is proposed to explore the community forum. This method was used in a Quebec study on support strategies intended for families living with a minor child with disabilities. In this article, the community forum will be described and various aspects of its organization will be explained. The advantages and the limitations of this type of citizens' consultation will also be discussed. The community forum is a valuable tool for the social worker, because it fulfills a triple function. It allows collecting quality information, it increases awareness of a social or health problem, and it stimulates a process of reflection on a specific issue. The community involvement being essential when seeking solutions to societal concerns, the community forum can be considered a tool of choice.

Worker training is a way to embrace in order to combine the transformations facing Quebec organizations. This paper presents the results of an exploratory research examining the willingness and ability of SMEs to invest in employee training, through the practices deployed and the perceptions of SMEs managers. It also examines SMEs’ knowledge and perceptions of the strategies and programs put forward by government and regional actors in training and skills development. The data were collected from 427 SMEs located in Chaudière-Appalaches and Centre-du-Québec. The results reflect informal training practices, limited by the lack of time and workforce. They indicate limited knowledge of the programs offered by socio-economic actors. In light of these results, lines of action are suggested.

As is the case for basins of arid and semi-arid zones, the Essaouira Basin is likely to be at high risk of water scarcity due to climate change. The Essaouira Basin, which is the subject of this study, is located on the Atlantic coast of Morocco, southeast of the city of Essaouira. It is characterized by a semi-arid climate with annual rainfall of around 300 mm and average temperatures of 20°C. Looking at the importance of this basin for the groundwater supply of the Essaouira City and neighbouring clusters, this article considers the potential effect of climate change on water resources in this area. A series of piezometric maps was prepared (1990-2016) and the hydrochemical study of the water shows that they have a Na-Cl type facies in 1990, 1995 and 2009 and Mg-Ca-Cl type in 2015. This evolution is the result of cation exchange following the exceptional precipitation of 2015. The isotopes 18O, 2H, 3H and 14C were analyzed during the campaigns of 1996, 2006 and 2007. The local meteoric water line close to the global meteoric water line characterizing precipitation of oceanic origin was determined. The results of this work show: i) the existence of a depression in the piezometric level during dry years (e.g. 1995) and a modest recovery during wet years (e.g. 2004 and 2009), ii) a deterioration of the water quality away from the Wadi Ksob (recharge zone of the aquifer), and iii) that the recharge the aquifer depends on rainfall.

AbstractThe Adra delta is located on the eastern limit of Almeria in South-East Spain. Entirely devoted to agriculture for many years, greenhouse crops now cover the entire delta. The intensive use of fertilizers and the recycling of irrigation water have resulted in an alarming increase in nitrate concentrations in the groundwater of the eastern part of the delta. Two wetlands located in this sector are protected as natural reserves and are included in the Ramsar Convention. These wetlands are discharge zones for the aquifer and have shown high nitrate concentrations for some years. The objective of this work was to study the effect of irrigation water recycling on nitrate contamination of groundwater and to highlight the effect of this contamination on the wetlands. A model simulating nitrogen transfer in the unsaturated soil was used to simulate nitrate concentrations in groundwater recharge. Considering the dilution of nitrate into the aquifer and the presence of denitrification processes in the eastern sector, measured nitrate concentrations in the aquifer were adequately reproduced, thus confirming the contribution of groundwater recycling through irrigation in aquifer contamination. Simulation of a hypothetical stop of irrigation water recycling showed that a period of ten years would be necessary for nitrate concentrations to reach levels measured before the start of greenhouse agriculture. Wetland efficiency in attenuating groundwater nitrate contamination has been stable at 92 to 94% from 1991 to 1997. Nitrate concentrations are nevertheless very high in the wetlands, threatening them with eutrophication.

Financial corporate risk management has evolved in several growing ways over the last decade, but few studies in the literature focused corporate profiles which really need it.This article is divided into three parts : the first part looks at the general definition of risk management; the second part examines the determinants that are considered in the decision to establish such an activity; the third part presents the results of an empirical study which identify the significant determinants motivating the decisions to hedge the price of gold in the mining industry.The author concludes by the identification of the characteristics of the farm-produce sector which militates in favor of an active but prudent risk management.
