The COVID-19 pandemic has enabled organisations to accelerate towards digital transformation, but it also posed some challenges. As part of their project management, several organizations have resorted to teleworking to maintain their activities, thereby reshaping their current practices to better adapt to a virtual environment. These transformations deserve to be studied. This article aims to understand the challenges experienced by individuals and project teams during the COVID-19 pandemic. Based on a qualitative study, we arrive at four categories of challenges: physical environment, virtual environment, social environment, and organizational and individual practices. Thus, we highlight that the interdependence of challenges in turn highlights the systemic interactions of transformations in the work environment. It is essential to consider these challenges and their relationships to understand organizational transformations.

Group conversation, also known as circle time, is frequently used in preschool education. This study describes practices during group conversation in prekindergarten. 30 filmed group conversations led by 11 full-time female prekindergarten teachers were analyzed. Results showed that teacher and children are seating in a circle and the management is mostly done by the teacher. The main theme is chosen by the teacher and is usually about personal experiences. In terms of feedback practices, most of them are related to the ideas expressed by children and few are about phonology, syntax, or vocabulary.

Police investigators, in particular, must increasingly focus on digital technologies within their roles to effectively address the growingdemands related to technological crime. For this reason, new training programs are being implemented in Quebec, and others are being revisedto better equip police investigators with respect to emerging technologies. In this article, reflections are presented to enhance understanding ofthe training context for Quebecois police investigators. Firstly, various issues related to technology in investigations are examined, criticallyassessing the Quebecois context and drawing on concepts developed in the field of decision-making studies. Subsequently, a comprehensiveoverview of the different types of currently available and relevant training for Quebecois police investigators is provided. In recent years, a significant amount of research has been done on the varieties of spoken French in Western Canada. Much remains to be done, nonetheless, and it is important to continue to collect, describe and analyze data, as we seek to present an accurate portrait of the Francophone communities in Western Canada. This has been the principal objective of this team of six researchers working on the particularities of each variety of Western Canadian French and on each community where the language is spoken. Moving from East to West (Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta) and serving as a foundation for further research, this paper offers a descriptive survey of current research activities in the field and suggests ways to reflect on the interpretation of both existing and newly-collected spoken language corpuses. The variety of corpuses presented here allows for further analysis in connection with other large-scale projects (PFC – Le français à la mesure d'un continent), in an effort to enrich our knowledge of the many varieties of French in the Francophone world.

The financing of small businesses (SBs) remains a key concern, which this article addresses through the study of the poorly addressed topic of the financing decision through the demand-side. The article is based on the importance of the role of the manager as a decision maker. Taking a step aside from the work in classical entrepreneurial finance, this research focuses on the building of the decision, and is based on a processual approach. To this end, the theoretical framework is based on the initial hypothesis of a manager's choice based on a proxemic logic. Seven cases are then studied empirically to explore this hypothesis, using developments from strategic decision-making in SMEs. The results reveal the existence of a behavioral spectrum ranging from proactivity to an opportunistic wait-and-see attitude among executives of SMEs. Decision-making can be modeled in four fundamental stages. They also show a limitation of the historical three-dimensional model to study the financing decision in SMEs. Finally, they suggest embracing the proxemics approach as a heuristic for small business management, particularly with respect to financing decisions.

This article explores challenges that Francophone newcomers face at their arrival in a francophone community in a minority context in Canada, as well as the impact of these obstacles on, and moderating factors associated to, the integration process. A qualitative research was conducted, using semi-structured interviews with sixty immigrants or refugees in three Canadian cities. The most challenging obstacle is the language barrier, as it has a direct impact on social integration and employment-seeking. The migration experience also has an impact on mental health, interpersonal relationships and physical health. Social support and personal resilience foster adaptation into the host community.
