This article brings a notion of technological appropriation to bear upon work with/through sound. It aims to promote an engagement with the sound field of anthropology through describing sound appropriation by digital bricolage. Inspired in part by personal exploration of the Raspberry Pi computer's musical affordances, this text locates the methods and approaches through which sound itself is appropriated in Maker Culture. We are concerned here with the appropriations of sound and technology in a process emerging from individualized practice found in the social universe of open collaboration. By producing its own sound, digital making transforms the acoustic environment and gives it meaning.

Wetland types, such as ponds, are essential aquatic biotopes in the Martinique landscape. They are characterized by the permanent or temporary presence, at very shallow depths, of fresh water by the preponderance of a hygrophile phytocenosis and by the existence of a hydromorphic soil. The aim of this article is to identify these slow ecosystems from a hydrogeomorphological and floristic point of view. We have inventoried twenty-three ponds. Then we established an initial classification that resulted in the distinction of forest ponds from savannah ponds. Then we identified seven hydrophytic species and one helophyte.

By its sudden unprecedented nature and the collapse of traditional reference work points, the COVID-19 pandemic corresponds to a situation “vu jàdé”, the opposite of “déjà vu”. Some organizations, forced to operate remotely during periods of sanitary confinement, have been able to resist, or even reinvent themselves. Taking Karl Weick's “sensemaking” theory as a conceptual framework, this article aims to explore the human and organizational capacities in the deployment of remote work on a global scale during and after the COVID-19 health crisis. For this research, nine semi-structured interviews were conducted with employees working remotely, focusing on their daily work practices in connection with spatial arrangements, temporalities, communication practices with digital tools, and collaboration with other members of the organization. The four sources of organizational resilience proposed by Weick (improvisation and bricolage, virtual role systems, an attitude of wisdom, and respectful interaction) allowed us to draw some insights on how individuals demonstrated resilience through their daily work practices during this period, which we qualify as “resilience practices”. The main contribution of this research is to render Weick's conceptual framework operational in a remote context.

In recent years, with the increasing arrival of refugees in Quebec, numerous schools have been endeavoring to facilitate the reception of these students who have lived in adverse conditions. This article presents the results of an action research conducted with young Syrian refugee students and tends to highlight the relevance of a framed activity allowing freedom of expression (discussion groups) in class in the development of the students' psychological well-being. The thematic analysis of the data generated by the discussion groups conducted in five reception classes allows us to highlight that the activity made possible the elaboration of grief and traumas and contributed to the development of the students' psychological well-being.

This qualitative study constitutes the empirical component of a project on the informational behaviour of members of the Union des écrivaines et des écrivains québécois (UNEQ), a writers' union located in Montreal, Quebec. Using a theoretical framework inspired by Pierre Bourdieu's work in the literary field, also found in literature on the topic, the study describes the practices of writers in terms of their needs, research, use and dissemination of information by bringing together data gathered via a survey, an analysis of online contents, and interviews. The results show that the advantages and disadvantages of digital media sometimes create a sense of incoherence among the resources used and the online dissemination of information. Furthermore, it suggests that the relationship with information professionals could be reconfigured at the creation of the text stage, with regards to the organisation of the digital paratext, and in order for the online tools available to writers to be understood. That being said, this relationship would need to be part of a larger change in the field, since the current perceptions of legitimation continue to follow the traditional paths of the illusio.
