The arrival of COVID-19 in France and the repercussions of the containment plan have transformed the way in which teaching is offered in universities and training institutes, which is difficult to carry out face-to-face. In this context the health executive training institute of Rouen has taken up the challenge of experimenting with a managerial simulation session with the modalities of the inverted class. The hot evaluation was positive. This experience questions the contours of the simulation and flipped classroom. In a context of imposed physical distancing, digital technology offers the possibility of rethinking the concept of presence.

This article presents the results of a study on factors influencing the willingness to communicate (WTC) in the context of a francization course for allophone parents of primary school students. The research methodology included individual interviews with francization educators, mothers as learners, and their children's teachers. The findings reveal several factors that positively or negatively influence the WTC, namely the mothers' self-efficacy, language anxiety, the behavior of children and their teachers, as well as the practices of educators during francization courses.

This article presents the analysis of a unique training program, namely the Compagnons du devoir et du tour de France (Companions of Service and of the Tour de France). Through the application of a matrix for objectifying emancipatory learning postures, we demonstrate how the pedagogical and assessment practices deployed in this program enable the achievement of two objectives: the development of professional skills and the emancipation of learners. Thus, participant observations and interviews confirm that the act of creative work can be an opportune moment for the emancipation of learners.

This work proposes a realistic conceptualization of (1) the digitalization of society and (2) overcoming planetary boundaries to (3) put forward reasoned approaches to education with/about the digital, from discourse analysis to prospective proposals. First, using a multidisciplinary approach, the authors demystify the imperious discourses around digital technology and its ecological impact. Then, they present projects with low ecological impact and innovative pedagogical content based on solid computational knowledge.

Balaton Lake (Hungary) stands out with its large surface and very low depth. These types of lake have an original functioning characterized by the addition of lake risks to those of ponds, notably in term of the water quality. The nutrients load contained in the sediment takes a considerable place. Fight against eutrophation — an important issue for industrial nations — must then be adapted to such a case. This article proposes a geographical method leaning on gradients and threshold effects between limnic regions; quantifying certain of the results it shows that the re-sedimentation rate is high. The authors propose the new term "lake-pond", which reflects the peculiarity of the weight of zonation dynamism on the stratification fragility.

In the light of the growing presence of political actors on Instagram, it seems essential to tackle the use of the platform by political leaders. This article explores the way in which communication advisors have framed the ethos of Justin Trudeau on Instagram during its campaign and through the first 100 days of its government. With that purpose in mind, we have adopted a largely quantitative approach, supported by a discourse analysis. The results shed the light on an ethos based on authenticity, compassion and competence. Justin Trudeau is presented thanks to strategies based on pathos and celebrity politics, through a heroic and positive storytelling.

AbstractIf writing is not easy to learn in one's mother tongue, it is even more difficult in a second language. The same applies to the teaching of writing. Teachers often become desperate when they read their students compositions. Always the same structures and the same vocabulary! Always the same mistakes in composition after composition! What do students learn? What do teachers teach? Recent knowledge on the writing process, especially on revision, gives researchers and teachers new grounds for hope. This article focuses on the teaching of revision and its incorporation into the teaching of writing. Revision leads to more satisfactory writing and enables learners to discover the pleasure of writing in a second language.

AbstractThis article presents the theoretical foundations of classroom management from a socio-contructivist perspective, as well as some possible applications of the key concept of class as a learning community. The author analyses the social and pedagogical pertinence of this perspective for teacher training. Illustrations of this type of classroom operation are taken from practices which associate university professors and teachers. These practices are supported by a network of multimedia computers and include examples of the program PROTIC, which makes available a portable computer to each student. The potential of available resources and on-line tools (internet and intranet) is examined in relation to the development of the class as a learning community. Implications for pro- fessional development of teachers are described.
