The telelibrary network at the Université du Québec groups the libraries and documentation centers of the twelve institutions members of this university system throughout the Quebec territory. Supported by a modern telecommunication technology, it integrates data processing, audiovisual and libraries in a single communication system. Favoring a policy of decentralization and flexibility, this network can be credited with a union catalogue of the documentary resources in conversational mode, as well as with a fast interlibrary loan service through an electronic courier.

This article shows how new approaches in corpus analysis could enrich traditional lexicographic descriptions. We examine a set of trends verbs (i.e, denoting an increase), in English, French and Dutch, building on several analyses of parallel corpora and well-targeted monolingual corpora. Parallel corpora give information about the frequency and equivalence of translations. MDS (MultiDimensional Scaling) analyses on these quantitative data yield interesting results, in terms of translation profiles. Corpora in the target language allow us to refine these results and to extract salient collocates, and they show the combinatorial properties of trends verbs. The results of all these corpus analyses, by means of translation profiles and lexical profiles, can be used to enrich traditional lexicographic descriptions in translation dictionaries. The methodology and results of the corpus analyses, as well as some challenges for lexicography, will be presented.

Various content analysis methods can be considered depending on the research objectives. A corpus of accounts of injustice by pupils in the third grade of secondary education in French-speaking Belgium has been processed according to two complementary methods: thematic analysis and propositional analysis. On the basis of coding, thematic analysis and propositional analysis and by crossing these methods, we discuss the typology of school injustice proposed by Dubet (1999) and throw light on conclusions of the GERESE according to which pupils' feelings of justice are significantly linked to their self-evaluation of academic achievement.
