From an international point of view, the emergence of Africa questions the location choices in this area. Based on the Uppsala model and the organizational learning theory, the article explores the role of the firm's experience and the influence of the result of a first location, on the decision of a second. The study of a French SME shows that a solid and important experiential base leads to pursue and expand its locations. Our results reinforce the relevance of the organizational aspirations model and tend to confirm that initial success limits the development of local knowledge by encouraging decision-makers to simplify the decision-making process.

This article is based on a qualitative study of about forty female members of ten cooperatives in Morocco. The author takes a sociological perspective in analyzing how the spirit of solidarity within female cooperatives has declined and shows how the tensions between cooperative spirit and utilitarianism can influence power-sharing. Market pressures lead cooperatives to select leaders who have the cultural, relational, and economic capital that facilitates skill development. The investment these leaders make in the cooperative, as well as their efforts to manage it, tend to legitimize the ways they reinforce their power in the cooperative and serve their own interests rather than those of the collective.

AbstractThis paper focuses on the Ketama tribe in Central Morocco and their role in the production of kif and its derivates in the economical activity of the region. Its purpose is to present an anthropological point of view on the relationship between religion and cannabis. How can it be explained that in a country ruled by a religious monarchy, the production of cannabis flourishes ? First, this paper analyses the Ketama tribe's relation with religion, taking into consideration the impact of kif production on the religions structure. And second, it questions the religious process which has allowed the Ketama to put aside any religious interdictions on cannabis.

Social and cultural aspects (family socialization, dominant perception of the female body, gendered spaces) contribute to the explanation of the low rate of sports practice among Moroccan women, particularly in certain sports considered “masculine”. Based on a qualitative survey of a group of young female footballers aged between 14 and 20, their relatives and the leaders of sports associations, this article will analyze the modes of socialization, perceptions of the body and the construction of ‘masculine' dispositions in two disadvantaged working-class neighbourhoods on the outskirts of Rabat. In these neighbourhoods, women's football is frequently considered as a practice that goes against the dominant norms that risk modifying the girls' body hexis. At the same time, the masculine appearance of some female footballers is sometimes interpreted as a “loss of femininity” and questions the binarity of gender both in the neighbourhoods studied and within society. Consequently, the sporting commitment of these young female footballers is negotiated on the margins of dominant gender conventions.

AbstractThis paper deals with some issues related to the teaching of the Amazigh language (Berber) in Morocco at the elementary school level, namely: (i) the attributes of the Amazigh language, (ii) the two options for teaching Amazigh (teaching dialects vs. teaching the standard language), (iii) the institutions responsible for the implementation of teaching programs, (iv) the pedagogical approach adopted, (v) the management of language variation, and (vi) the outcomes of teaching Amazigh in school. The challenges posed when teaching Amazigh in Morocco and the solutions adopted are quite unique and should help to overcome problems related to the teaching of regional and national languages in communities marked by linguistic diversity such as those located in Africa.
