This study examines the linguistic integration of migrant students in Morocco and the support measures in place to overcome the obstacles they encounter. This research is based on interviews with six parents of school-age children from sub-Saharan Africa, aimed at exploring their family environment, their children's experiences at school, as well as collecting their opinions. The results show that current personal and objective conditions hinder true integration. The family environment does not encourage integration because local and official languages play only a minor role in the job market, where preference is given to French. Furthermore, Morocco is often seen by these immigrants as a transitional step on their way to Europe. The lack of any clear educational State policy on the integration of immigrant students in the school system, as well as shortcomings when it comes to appropriate settling arrangements, follow-ups, and adapted programs are also highlighted.

AbstractThis article quantitatively studies the macroeconomic impact of creating a free trade area between Morocco and the European Union, while underlining its effects regarding migratory flow. The analysis framework is a computable general equilibrium model which assumes the following new international trade theory hypothesis: increasing scale outputs and products differentiation. The model, which comprises nine Moroccan economic sectors, analyzes the macroeconomic effects on emigration and the creation of a free trade area between Morocco and Europe. Results show that, under current conditions of competitiveness of the Moroccan economy, free trade would induce a strong industrial depression and a growing external deficit. It would lead to a fall in employment, particularly in industry. Consequently, Moroccan migratory flows will be maintained and developed towards Europe.

Fences of Ceuta and Melilla are an appropriate model to study to what extent governments could harmonize between stated purposes and hidden objectives. Although Spanish government has constantly stated that fences of the two enclaves aim only to stop irregular migration, comprehensive view of various aspects of the issue leads us to conclude the existence of other objectives behind this policy. Spain's policy of fencing the two enclaves' borders reflects a contradictory process in the region. While Mediterranean sphere has witnessed during the last two decades an increasing number of cultural and economic cooperation projects, new real and virtual walls have been built in the region to achieve “Fortress Europe”. The paper tries, first, to show the controversial aspects of Ceuta and Melilla fences as the de facto eu southern border. Second, it aims to highlight the changing roles of the two enclaves' fences.

Entrepreneurship represents an opportunity to gain access to income-generating activities for Moroccan women. Our aim is to understand these women's entrepreneurial process, distinguishing between three different realities : women owning a commercial venture, women professionals and women in a cooperative. Targeting three groups allows us to go beyond the generalities of female entrepreneurship and show its complexity and diversity. The analysis of the entrepreneurial process of these women will mobilize individual and family variables, but also the specificities related to the characteristics of their company and their sector of activity as well as the socio-economic, cultural, legal and political characteristics of Morocco. Based on a qualitative study with 60 women entrepreneurs, we highlight the paradoxes in which Moroccan female entrepreneurs operate, attempting to reconcile a desire for autonomy and emancipation with respect for traditional patterns of thought that condition, or even handicap, their entrepreneurial exercise.

The dependence of CSR of SMEs on local specificities is intense, and the nature of their responsible practices differs from one context to another, due to the strong embedding that characterizes them. Through this article, we explore the formal and informal institutions that define the CSR of SMEs and we identify its determinants in the Moroccan context. We propose a contextualization study that will lay the groundwork for SME CSR research in the specific contexts of Southern countries in general, and in Morocco in particular.
