    1924 represents an undeniable symbolic turning point in the history of French-language poetry, marked with the publication of the Surrealist Manifesto. The aim of the eight essays collected in this issue is however to show that 1924 is not solely defined by this avant-garde moment and includes numerous decentered voices that maintain a critical distance from André Breton's movement.

    Learning to read and write requires explicit teaching of knowledge and strategies. However, teacher training in Senegal is uneven in this respect. From a professional development perspective, our research team led a study on the issue of ongoing literacy training. Consequently, a case study of two primary school teachers in Dakar led us to discuss the needs of these teachers to better guide their practices according to the components of the interconnected model of professional development.
