Faced with the current socio-ecological crisis, the world of work will have no choice but to adapt in depth over the next few years. How can we support companies - and the individuals within them - in these processes of cultural and paradigm transformation? In this article, we postulate that work and organizational psychologists (PTOs), as specialists in the human dimension of work, can play a key role in this accompaniment. We argue that their expertise in organizational change management, for example, could be put to good use in the fight against climate change. We also point to the potential tensions arising from the adoption of such an influential role within the profession. To support our argument, we draw on: 1) an exploratory review of the literature listing PTO professional practices in relation to the climate crisis and 2) the adoption of a reflexive and critical gaze on our own practice. We conclude with several possible courses of action that could be transferred to other professionals wondering about their role in supporting groups and companies in the face of the climate crisis.

AbstractIn recent years the use of theoretical elements and techniques stemming from traditional Indian spirituality, such as yoga and mindfulness meditation, by Western mental health professionals and researchers, has grown substantially. These techniques are often favourably received by Westerners and have become very popular. However, it is difficult to identify a clear theoretical position on these topics in the field of psychology to determine which are the reliable sources for such critical analysis. This paper aims to understand the relationship between Western theories of psychology and those of Indian spirituality, through the current patterns of cultural appropriation as well as through the historical context of contact between the two traditions since the late nineteenth century.
