This article describes the validation of a scale for measuring the content of the psychology students' occupational goals. This validation consists of three studies conducted with first-year students (n = 151, n = 203, n = 362). The psychometrical qualities of the scale were examined by factor and reliability analysis. After the third study, factor analysis with ULS (unweighted least squares) extraction method and varimax rotation shows a five-factor structure (α from 0,85 to 0,95). These factors represent five professional profiles (organisational, clinical, educational, social and general) based on different descriptors of the profession of psychologist (the places, objects, actions and sectors of activity).

At the heart of humanistic psychotherapy, especially in the existential approach, lies the search for authenticity. The clinical literature reports the intensity of traumatic suffering, which may even take the form of suicidal ideation, when a being is hindered in this journey. We believe that this theme is central to the lives of trans people. In this article, we present some conditions considered to be essential for accompaniment of the gender identity research process, through the perspective of the humanistic psychology of the self, in which the capacity for self-actualization is a central element of the therapeutic work. Using a combination of theoretical essay and hermeneutic methodology, the following text will present theoretical reflections on these themes, adding the reflexivity of the authors, all three of whom work in clinical psychology (the first identifying as a transgender woman and the other two as cisgender women).

This article takes as its starting point Husserl's claim that he found his phenomenological method in the German Naturforscher of the 19th century (Mach, Hering). I examine in detail the nature of Mach's "physical" phenomenology, and identify possible points of rapprochement and divergence with Husserlian phenomenology. I show that it serves a very specific purpose, and cannot be understood as a general prerequisite for other sciences (notably psychology). It is not a theory of elements, contrary to what some commentators have claimed. Machian psychology cannot be descriptive or phenomenological, because its object (consciousness and its acts) is always conceived as a "piece" or "part" of nature. Machian psychology is physiological. While Husserl is right to see in it a form of naturalization of the mind, I nevertheless defend the idea that it is a soft or moderate naturalism : a non-reductionist physicalism that allows for the specificity of the mind.

AbstractThe study of the mental processes taking place when translating is an important challenge for specialists of translation didactics. Based on all indications, knowing all these processes may be the basis for designing new teaching methods that aim to develop the translators' skills and to improve their quantitative and qualitative performance. Research in this field should focus mainly on two axes: i. the reading phase as a cognitive activity through which the translator gains access to the content of the text to be translated and thus controls the outcome of his/her effort; and ii. the function of the mnemonic system during the translation act. Indicative topics for research could be the way the text for translation is mentally represented, as well as the way this representation is processed when translating. It would also be useful to study the strategies employed for translation performance, the translator's strategies for managing his/her cognitive resources, etc.
