This article aims at giving an overview of what positive psychology can provide to psychopathology and health psychology in order to highlight their complementarities. First, we will show how positive psychology has contributed to reexamine the issues of health and recovery, stressing the importance of promoting positive health and a complete recovery. We illustrate our topic by describing some results from studies on depression and chronic pain. Then we will emphasize the benefits of clinical strategies that cultivate positive emotions and a sense of well-being, by trying to identify the change processes they mobilize.

This study aimed to evaluate an interdisciplinary educational device designed to stimulate college students' development of interest for a French course. This device consisted of a pairing between a preparatory French course and a psychology of sexuality course. It has been evaluated through a quasi-experimental condition with control group and followed longitudinally. The results indicate a greater interest in the French course by the experimental group, a higher perception of utility, and better behavioural engagement and performance. These results support the effectiveness of interdisciplinary approaches.

ABSTRACTBetween 1930 and 1960, the history of career advising in Quebec can be divided into two periods. During the first (1930-1945), the promotors of vocational guidance created private schools and defined a conceptual apparatus, in an effort to establish the profession on a scientific basis. The need to manage human capital efficiently seems to have been the main preoccupation here. Between 1945 and 1960, the new specialists in guidance gradually found a place in the public schools. The profession's foothold in the schools remained tenuous, however, and the new counsellors, whose functions were not yet clearly defined, faced the mistrust of other school employees.
