This contribution presents the process of co-creating a teaching sequence in a research-design project. The sequence focuses on the transformation of a literary tweet into an enriched spontaneous oral narrative. After outlining the didactic model of the genre, we detail the characteristics of the sequence, co-constructed with lower secondary school teachers in French-speaking Switzerland. Then, through a qualitative analysis of the pupils' productions at the beginning and end of the experiment, we examine the effects of the teaching sequence proposed as the design to be experimented with. The findings of this analysis enable us to formulate ways of transforming the engineering of the sequence, in line with the logic of the research-design approach.

For more than 80 years, the risk of sexual recidivism has raised social, legal and political concerns. A systematic review yielding more than 160 Canadian studies on sex offender recidivism conducted between 1940 and 2019 underwent a quantitative meta-analysis to assess these rates and their evolution over time. Analyses of weighted pooled recidivism rates show that sexual recidivism has significantly dropped since the 1970s. A series of meta-regressions show that the recidivism drop holds after statistically controlling for various methodological details. These findings raise fundamental questions about how and why recidivism rates have changed over time, a largely unexplored research topic. While we offer hypotheses to explain the recidivism drop, these findings point toward a new field of comparative criminology research.

Among older people with incurable cancer, men are less likely to seek support for their suffering. However, living with a terminal illness often causes significant psychological sufferings. What is known about the suffering experienced by older men with incurable cancer (OMIC)? In this article, we present the findings of a qualitative study conducted with 17 OMICs focusing on their suffering and on communication. The findings reveal that suffering can be related to what these men are told by others, what they wish to express themselves and what they feel able to communicate. The limits of speech and how transmission can be considered as another way of communicating will also be discussed.
