Research framework: Using the theoretical frameworks of quality of life and the sociology of technology uses, this qualitative article explores the consequences of lockdown following the COVID-19 pandemic among Spanish students enrolled at the University of Salamanca. Objectives: This article analyzes the impact of lockdown on the quality of life of university students in different spheres, such as residential, mental health, diet, alcohol and drug consumption, physical exercise, use of information and communication technologies (ICTs), academic work, financial repercussions and coping strategies. Methodology: Exploratory interviews were conducted with 12 respondents (6 male and 6 female students) enrolled at the University of Salamanca on the impact of lockdown in the different spheres of life. The transcripts were coded and thematically analyzed to identify the salient dimensions, convergences and differences in the students’ experience. Results: This study allowed us to identify the positive and negative repercussions of lockdown following the COVID-19 pandemic on the quality of life, to identify the repertoire of reactions to this extreme event in the different spheres of life, and in particular in the use of information and communication technologies at the social and academic level. Conclusions: Our analysis allows us to conclude that the lockdown was not always a problematic period, but that it allowed the exploration of existential issues and new behaviours likely to contribute to personal development. Contribution: This article contributes to the research on COVID-19 and university students from a qualitative perspective that is still not widely used in the growing literature on the pandemic.

Research framework : The study is at the crossroads of two theoretical fields: the condition of the exile and the sociology of the family. Objective  : The article aims to analyze the family reconfigurations involved in asylum application procedures. Methodology : A two-year ethnographic field study (2018-2019) was carried out in the Centre d’hébergement d’urgence pour migrants (CHUM) and the Centre de premier accueil (CPA) managed by an association. The families housed there come mainly from Albania, Afghanistan, Sudan, Eritrea and Somalia. Results : A birth, the formation of a couple or even a separation are all events that place exiled families in anthemic situations, between the stability generated by these family events, which implies a projection into the future, and the insecurity of asylum procedures, which forces them to remain stuck in the present. These family events are used in different ways by migrant families: either as a means of emancipation, as a factor of “vulnerability” in an attempt to improve living conditions, or as experiential knowledge. Conclusions  : The temporalities of asylum procedures and of family changes clash to the point of generating situations of great instability. Furthermore, the superimposition of statuses (that of asylum seekers, woman and mother) leads to paradoxes and even feelings of ambivalence in the daily lives of these women housed in centres. Contribution  : Looking beyond the realities of France, the article reflects on the experiences of women asylum seekers in shelters from the perspective of their family projects. In this way, we are able to move away from the asylum procedures imposed on exiles, and graps subjectivity through family changes. Following on the sociology of the family and the emergency context, we understand how families are constructed, and how links are made and broken.

The technoscientific and industrial progress of the past century continues to weigh heavily on the development of subjectivities as well as on the mechanisms of socialization. In psychoanalysis, some authors speak of a great disturbance. We would witness the birth of an infantile narcissistic neo-subject incapable of transmitting anything, because he too has not learned from his parents how to appropriate the tools of language and culture. Living in the fantasy of a “limitless” world, this neo-subject even rejects any symbolic debt to mankind. At school, these perverse forms mark intersubjective relationships in the same way as the conditions of intervention. It is impossible to constrain, limit and supervise when the parent no longer trusts and no longer recognizes the legitimacy of authority in the school environment. Jean-Pierre Lebrun speaks of ordinary perversion. In reference to the therapeutic society which presents itself as neutral and benevolent, we have chosen to use the concept of “mèreversion” (“motherversion”). Because a paradox never comes alone, we have also chosen to analyze three UNESCO reports grouped under Horizon 2030, because they bear witness to a radical change in the ways of conceiving and prescribing a so-called progressive education around ICT and Artificial Intelligence. We believe that recent socio-cultural and structural transformations, politically on the left and on the right, open the door to various forms of control and violence in the ways of “schooling”.

This article presents an adaptation and an evaluation of the implementation of the DBT STEPS-A intervention program in a school context for adolescents who have difficulties with emotion regulation. Although the original version of this program has been implemented and evaluated on several occasions, it was never adapted, implemented or evaluated in Quebec. One of the objectives of this study is to adapt the intervention based on the best criteria used by various authors in dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) and thus respond to a lack of information and uniformity in the authors' decision-making process when adapting a DBT program. A review of the scientific literature is carried out, then an initial adaptation format from this literature review is set up by the research team and submitted to experts in the field in order to collect their evaluation. The second objective is to implement this intervention program in a Quebec high school and evaluate the appreciation of the participants using a semi-structured interview. The results show the participants' appreciation of most of the themes covered during this interview.

This article examines the ways in which video games can have a therapeutic function, specifically in regard to the psychological ills experienced in the context of the pandemic and the confinement measures. We first look at research in psychology and game studies on the benefits of play, serious games and entertainment games on mental health. We then explain the harmful impacts on mental health caused by the pandemic situation. Finally, based on theories in game studies and emblematic examples, we elaborate some ideas about the therapeutic potential of video games in times of a pandemic.
