À ce jour, peu d’intérêt a été porté aux différences entre les hommes et les femmes en ce qui a trait aux besoins non comblés des personnes qui souffrent de dépression et qui consultent des infirmières de première ligne (IPL) pour des raisons de santé mentale. Dans ce contexte, l’objectif principal de cette étude est de déterminer si le fait d’avoir consulté une IPL pour des raisons de santé mentale par des personnes souffrant d’un épisode dépressif majeur (ÉDM) est associé à une diminution du taux des besoins non comblés en santé mentale (BNCSM) et si cette association est influencée par le sexe de la personne qui consulte. L’automutilation est un phénomène préoccupant en raison de ses relations avec de nombreux problèmes de santé physique et psychologique, ainsi que de son potentiel de létalité. Il est important de s’attarder aux fonctions de l’automutilation (c.-à-d. les raisons pour lesquelles les individus s’automutilent), afin d’intervenir sur celles-ci. Une personne peut s’automutiler pour différentes raisons, celles-ci peuvent varier entre les individus et chez un même individu. On distingue deux catégories de fonctions à l’automutilation : les fonctions intrapersonnelles (p. ex., s’autopunir, se sentir moins dissocié) et les fonctions interpersonnelles (p. ex., communiquer sa détresse, créer une distance avec autrui). Many people with panic disorder remain dissatisfied with the perceived treatment's outcomes. The goal of this study is to document their perspective on avoidance and exposure to better understand how it influences their recovery. Eight participants took part in semi-directed interviews that were analyzed using the thematization method of Paillé and Mucchielli (2016). We identify 14 main factors that influence their propensity to expose themselves to anxiety-provoking situations or to avoid them. Through this fine analysis, this study confirms in the field the theoretical model as proposed by empirical and quantitative research. It also contributes to a better understanding of panic disorder, suggests clinical recommendations and identifies avenues for future research.

The project of care of a private psychiatric hospital for teenagers articulates in an innovative approach of the management of the patient care, studies and sociocultural community development, including artists’ presence around a circassian speciality developed by the establishment. The professionals sociocultural community developpers seem here closely associated to the medical team in a global and multidimensional design of the care. However, while the interweaving of three logics is validated by the institution, the empirical investigation reveals tensions between the visions and the roles of the various categories of professionals. It demonstrates that the function of the sociocultural community development, still widely subjected to the logic and to the imperatives of the care, has to fight for the respect of its specificity.

Introduction Through a journey in time, we propose to revisit the birth of the first mental health care settings for children with mental disorders affiliated with Université de Montréal, Quebec, Canada.Methods The main centers of child psychiatry affiliated with the Université de Montréal are presented with the outstanding figures of the time.Results Philosophical transitions and therapeutic paradigms are also briefly discussed. The creation of subspecialty clinics and training approved by the Royal College of Psychiatry of Child and Adolescent marked the contemporary era.Conclusion The contribution to training medical students, residents and researchers in the field of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry reflects the important milestones since the foundation of the Université de Montréal Department of Psychiatry. So much achieved in half a century.
