This article questions the neighborhood relationship from the analysis of the figure of the neighbor in popular culture (sayings, literature, comic strip…). It is commonly considered as a pejorative figure, but this is globally contradicted by actual interviews (storytelling), much more positive, collected during semi-directive qualitative enquiries about spatial and social relationship to the environment of individuals. It emerges from it that the neighborhood relationship has three major dimensions: spatiality, temporality, and potentiality. By living nearby, the neighbor is potentially harmful or useful. By this simple potentiality, the neighborhood relationship makes the individual not exactly as he should be, as a result of the closeness of the neighbor, and the neighborhood relationship as a combination of spatiality/temporality/potentiality. The aim of this article is to propose a definition of the concept of relation.

Psychoactive substance use while pregnant is very risky for the pregnancy outcome and for the baby. Early multidisciplinary intervention during pregnancy is recommended to meet the needs of pregnant women and mothers. Therefore, service integration is preferred for this clientele. The goal of this article is to provide a summary of current findings about the effectiveness of intervention models that foster integration of care for pregnant women and mothers who use psychotropic drugs. Accessing recent meta-analyses shines a valuable and useful light on the effectiveness of various integrated treatment programs employed with this clientele. Essentially, although the effect sizes range from small to large, results show that integrated treatment programs produce favourable effects when compared with absence of treatment or non-integrated treatment programs. More specifically, results focus on substance use behaviour change, baby's health at birth, the woman's commitment to the process, her emotional interaction and reflective functioning (ability to recognize the impact of mental state on behaviours). Moreover, the many methodological limitations reported in the identified studies – such as sample composition (size, target population, age) and the variety of study designs used – point to the need for further research to better document the potential of integrated treatment programs.

Massive training of mental health providers is one of the proposed means of improving access to evidence-based treatment for a variety of common mental disorders. While communication and knowledge dissemination technologies (videoconferencing, web platforms) can help make training more accessible in time and space, their contribution to the development of skills among providers needs to be carefully evaluated.

AbstractIn order to understand what effect youth between the ages of 13 and 23 years meant for their suicide to produce, their farewell letters were analysed in relationship to their life stories. Five types of effects were identified : positive effects for self ; positive effects produced by self or by others ; positive effects for others produced by self or by others ; negative effects for others. As an analysis complement, negative emotions and their link to the suicide and farewell letters were analysed. To conclude, the importance of knowing the young individual and how to discern their strengths and weaknesses is highlighted.
