There exists, in the human and social sciences, a category named event which, chased as was Candide from the castle of Thunder-ten-tronckh, was, like him, obliged to make a long journey before regaining its rights in areas where it reappears, although somewhat more circumscribed. The purpose of this article is to better understand the meaning that this term can embody today in order to make it into a real analytical category likely to help the modeling of contemporary societies. This modeling is not based solely on the event. It is based on the knot of relationships that binds this event, the individuals and the societal system. The approach of this modeling is therefore “relational”. And the event we are discussing here cannot be considered outside of this generalized relation which I call “relational field” and which suggests that none of the three analytic categories mentioned above has any meaning or interest in and of itself, for modeling purposes, outside of this field.

The social problem of re-entering the school system has received little attention from researchers (Voyer, Potvin and Bourdon, 2014). Research examining the testimonies of those concerned is all the more rare. In 2012, the PARcours action research network coordinated by Danielle Desmarais, professor at the University of Quebec in Montreal School of Social Work, produced a documentary feature film directed by Jonathan Durand. «The School for Me» records the life stories of 14 young people from four countries (Canada [Quebec], France, Belgium and Spain). This article presents the epistemological premises of our production and proposes a reflection on the potential of the documentary as an action research tool: (1) The use of video has a strong potential for developing reflexive thinking in young people who have worked to put their lives in narrative form in front of a camera; (2) The film is an important tool for the training of future educators and for helping young people in their process of returning to school; (3) The go-along method used in this study shows great potential for scientists in terms of producing raw or complementary data for formal biographical interview methods. These methods and their observed benefits reflect the dynamism of action research in practical disciplines such as social work and education.

A digital ethic (Rosati, 2012) is applied in education, covering topics such as respect for copyright, cyberbullying and netiquette. But where do we stand in terms of an emerging digital ethic as new forms of action arise from this specific context? To answer this question, we attempt to identify, through the hacker character, this key digital player, ethical orientations and forms of action which, while respecting the purposes of education, would change the relationship with technology. The work of hackers consists partly of understanding and modifying what Feenberg (2013) calls the codes of technology, which are made up of functions and meanings. Coding, decoding and recoding technology with an ethical aim promiting the richness of existence for oneself and others is the basis of three proposals that could foster the emergence of a digital ethic in education: hackerspaces in schools, learning the computer code, and the emergence of education on the codes of technology.

In this paper, I analyze a philosophical preoccupation that is shared by Husserl's transcendentalism and Merleau-Ponty's “existential” phenomenology : the thematization of the foundations of worldly experience. Through his “archeological” method, Husserl sheds light, in the Cartesian Meditations, the different strata of meaning that subtend the phenomenon of the concrete world. If this description begins with the philosophizing ego that thematizes its own experience, it ultimately leads to the transcendental ego which reveals itself to be the epicenter that possibilizes and subtends the world in its being-as-such. Far from radically opposing this thesis, Merleau-Ponty stays loyal to Husserl as he accepts that the world only acquires sense through its givenness to a consciousness, but he nonetheless suggests that philosophy is able to attain the stratum of the world's experience that precedes the acquisition of its sense. This paper argues that this yearning for a pre-objective primordiality has its source in Merleau-Ponty's interpretation of specific late works of Husserl.

The Haitian poet-critic Georges Castera son (1936-2020) and the Martinican poet-thinker Monchoachi (1946- ) wrote in French and Creole. If the former evolves in a formal, independent nation, accompanied by an elite and popular cultural specificity, the latter evolves in a complex West Indian society, with a unique culture, both creolized and assimilated to France. This article shows that Haitianness according to Castera is built on historical materialism (Marx) and a fairly closed linguistic nationalism, while the unnamed Antillanity of Monchoachi reconciles itself to an authentic, open materialist vision, in harmony with the unbridled words and thought of the ancient Greeks (Heidegger).

This essay will aim to demonstrate the explosion of literary forms by digital practices through the analysis of two works whose media do not originally engage literature: the video game console with What Remains of Edith Finch by Ian Dallas, and a transmedia network involving Twitter, Spotify, a paper edition but also exhibitions through Clara Beaudoux's Le Madeleine Project.

Patient self-disclosure is essential to the work of health professionals, and this is even more critical in mental health where speech is a reflection of the content of thought. Self-disclosure is then about invisible symptoms that are associated with health problems where discrimination and stigmatization are still very prevalent. This article explores the ethical issues of this phenomenon which has received very little study. Disclosure as a decision-making, interpersonal, dynamic and complex process will be defined and deepened with the help of examples from research. Subsequently, the vulnerability of the person who discloses will be addressed, followed by issues of quality of care and related to the standards of professional practice associated with patient disclosure and their associated responsibility. These elements highlight many ethical issues and ultimately lead us to a proposal to situate the professionals involved.
