The transformation of the state in western Europe, together with European integration, offer new possibilities for minority nations. Spain has always been a multinational state. Its diversity has caused conflicts, especially since the nineteenth century. For nationalists and regionalists in Catalonia, the Basque Country and Galicia, the European Union represents a new political arena in which to express their autonomist demands. In the new European political game, the nationalists' strategy is to seek opportunities to increase their margin of autonomy while remaining ambivalent about their ultimate aims. For some, the final goal is independence within the European Union, while others seek new forms of autonomy in a transformed Europe. The three historic nationalities have adopted different strategies, corresponding to their distinct traditions and political choices

This article analyses the impact of a participative process of the construction of a dashboard monitoring the structuration of a social innovation: a co-operative network. How does the enrollment of the members in the collaborative construction of a management tool progressively raise their involvement and institutionalize their relationships, structuring the network itself? The first part of this article is dedicated to its problematic: the process of the emergence of networks and its inherent difficulties in terms of management and animation. The authors then present the participative method of network management (MAPP), a change management tool developed by the Public Research Centre Henri Tudor during an action-research addressing the specific issue of network management. The authors have developed an analytical framework to study a concrete case: the impact of MAPP on an emerging associative network.

SummaryThe aim of this article is to examine ways to describe various learning strategies used by students in physical education and sports. The subjects included twenty-three students aged 14 and 15 who were filmed while participating in a teacher directed task. Following this they participated in an interview to explain their behaviour. Behavioural and verbal data collected were subjected to a content analysis. Categorizing the results allowed the authors to formulate six learning strategies: listening to directions, thinking and understanding, observing/imitating, visualizing/imaging, focusing one's attention, repeating. An analysis of discrimination confirmed these categories of learning strategies. This study demonstrates how categories of variables obtained from a qualitative analysis can be examined objectively through a statistical analysis.

One method of securing the revolution in Burkina Faso (formerly Upper Volta) was the restructuring of spontaneous housing areas in Ouagadougou, the capital—areas that housed 60% of the population. In an effort to solve the housing problems of the poor, the Burkina-bes regime promoted a collective approach to housing, with the aim of creating a collective consciousness around the housing issue. But obstacles came in the way of this strategy and it never came to fruition. There were problems because of the way the goals were interpreted by the residents and also because of the amount of human, technical and logistical resources required for the project. The result was faulty allocation and subsequent wastage of resources.

This article analyzes the production in strategic management; issued between 1990 and 1995 on the topics of SB and entrepreneurship in six French-speaking journals (Ftevue internationale PME, Revue d'économie industrielle, Revue française de gestion, Économies et sociétés, Gestion 2000, Gestion,) and the two first volumes of Perspectives en management stratégique. The analysis of the 60 articles shows that the production is concentrated on major authors and research centers, that research is mainly devoted to three themes (processes, technology, managers), that methods are often explicitated and cover a large spectrum of methodology practices. Cocitation clusters in bibliographies give information on the genealogy of topics in SB and entrepreneurship research. They make possible the identification of the current evolution of research in SB.
