Multinational Corporations (MNCs) are increasingly faced with a public questioning of their location strategies. This questioning, which partly relies on the use of the word “offshoring”, prompts managers to produce discourses legitimizing these location strategies. Through a comparative and longitudinal analysis of the cases of the Bonduelle and Bel groups in the 2001-2009 time period, the present article studies the interest of using the typology of discursive strategies proposed by Vaara et al. (2006) as a framework to understand the discursive constructions elaborated by MNCs to preserve the legitimacy of their international location strategy.

This article aims to develop a conceptual representation of the logic of social influence in strategizing in family firms. Through the analysis of the strategic discourse of managers and family members of three Moroccan family firms, the concept of “social objectification by the family” proposed in this research highlights the process of strategizing in the context of family firms. This concept refers to the family's ability to instill a certain objectivity in its strategic vision, thus promoting the acceptance and commitment of the social group. The family practices social objectification by voluntarily producing discourses and narratives for the social group.

The suicide prevention movement in Québec has its origin in Europe and more specifically in the United States. Faced with rising suicide rates, several community organizations in Québec came into existence thanks to the volunteer involvement from their community: The Centers for the Prevention of Suicide (CPS). For many years the CPS's have been the driving force behind the development of the suicide prevention movement in Québec. In 1998, la Stratégie québécoise d'action face au suicide (The Québec Suicide Prevention Task Force) was set up. This task force breathes new life into suicide prevention yet brings along with it a number of challenges.

The theory of the Cult of the Offensive clearly stands out among the most recent works being conducted in Strategic Studies. The aim of this article is to better understand this new theoretical contribution by looking at its strengths and weaknesses, and by applying it to the case of the evolving American naval strategy. The central elements of this approach will be analysed in order to explain the significant growth that the American Navy has experienced since the start of the 1980s. In this manner, it will be possible to perceive as much the applicability of this theory as the relevance of the case study, to show the value of strategic studies as a field which seeks a greater understanding of strategic choices.

Green industrial policy has recently emerged as a key strategy in tackling climate change. This type of climate policy is not entirely new. It has been used implicitly in the past to develop green technologies. But today, governments are using this strategy more explicitly and visibly to achieve economic, environmental and geopolitical objectives. This short article aims to introduce some elements of this new generation of green industrial policies. It presents the new rationale for this type of climate policy, explores some of the challenges posed by past experiences, and outlines some guidelines to advance robust green industrial policy.
