AbstractThis article examines the surprising evolution of relations between Switzerland (a federal, neutral, pluricultural state with a german speaking majority) and the francophonie : suspicion and indifférence at the beginning; sustained interest afterward. The debate surrounding the Confederation's participation at the first Francophonie Summit occurred immediately following a long political crisis dominated by the Jurassian issue. Consequently, Switzerland chose an observer's status at Paris-Versailles since it refused to introduce language as a foreign policy variable. At Dakar, Switzerland became a full member of the Summits. Ever since, Switzerland has justified its membership to the Francophonie on the basis of foreign policy interests.

Since the 16th century, abduction through seduction has been considered a crime punishable by death. New France's judicial records, like those of mainland France, show that judges refused to apply such harsh laws. In 1753, a resounding case of the crime of abduction took place in Québec, the Rouffio case. The judges of the Superior Council of Québec accepted a financial transaction, legally impossible, between the two families. They preferred to judge in equity rather than in law.

The purpose of this article is to address the future of associative research aiming at building a partnership of knowledge, related in this article to environmental justice issues. The development of a new web, a "hermeneutic" web, makes us consider how possible it is to develop a science-society interface based on a political model of dialogue on knowledge. The ePLANETe knowledge portal on environmental education, ecological economics and sustainability anticipates such developments. Three tools are presented in this article, in order to mobilize actors and knowledge to build a collective representation of socio-environmental conflicts, to deliberate around social choice, and to make more accurate environmental governance.

SummaryThis paper sets out to demonstrate that an ideological form, that is, a vision of the world anchored in the materiality of de facto relationships and oriented toward concrete practices (in this case, racist ideology) can be approached from three levels of social reality 1) The banal level of the evidence, infra-conscious, or, in any case, unquestioned. 2) The socially broader level of the explicit. As interpretation of reality, it is expressed in articulated and clear discourse. 3) Finally, the level at which the obviously political project aims at putting the state ai. its disposal, and in so doing, organizes it so as to bring about a radical separation between humans.

AbstractIn this article, we analyze the relationships between urban form, accessibility to transport networks and commuting practices through a scale of functionality intermediate between the traditionally studied local and metropolitan levels. A detailed description is provided for the generic methodology used to construct harmonized mesoscopic zones based on commuting data. These zones are applied for the Paris and Rhine-Ruhr (Germany) regions. Daily commuter mobility (transport modes used, distances traveled, and local portion of trips) is then analyzed for this intermediate scale. We emphasize the necessity for accessibility measures for each level described.
