Abstract« Scènes de Nouvelle-France » approaches a certain number of theatrical productions that reflected a metropolitan model (triumphal entry, neoclassicism, Italian comedy) as well as some colonial characteristics (indigenous participation, uncommon scenography). Some officers produced their own texts, such as Lescarbot, Lotbinière and Le Verrier. Others, like Piraube, Mareuil and Mascarène, dared to produce and interpret authors as famous as Corneille, Racine and Molière. The interest for the theatre shown by officers and seigneurial families was, in spite of the high clergy's reservations, an indelible contribution to the cultural life of the colony.
