Professional knowledge in teaching develops through constant interaction between theory and practice (Morales Perleza, 2016). This development is imbued with challenges inherent in the education sectors. For college teachers, who are generally poorly prepared to teach, these challenges relate to teacher training, the complexity of the task, and the reality of their students. To support the professional development of eight college teachers, an action-research-training project was coordinated by two researchers, an educational advisor, and a research assistant. The main objective was to identify professional knowledge that was shared and developed within a professionally supported co-development group. The analysis of the data, collected from the summaries of each of the meetings and a focus group, made it possible to highlight the types of professional knowledge most frequently shared by teachers, including those on students, pedagogical, contextual, curricular, collaborative, and human.

Inaugurated in September 2014 within the social department of the Haute École HELMo in Liège, the undergraduate program for specialized educators in socio-cultural and sports animation is the result of a delicate weaving between the teams’ concerns and the needs on the ground. Over the course of 10 years, the program has gradually been structured around the concept of collective action, co-active projects, critical digital literacy, and a balanced alliance between artistic and sports techniques. The integration of social ecology theories, which provide a holistic vision of a more equitable, supportive and sustainable world based on social justice and environmental respect, encourages future graduates to engage in the heart of this change by promoting practices that address these global challenges. Their work is meant to align with a global dynamic to shape responsible and critical citizens, capable of acting for a better future.

Animation is often considered as a way to facilitate young people's access to literary knowledge. But the revival of literature in animation raises several questions about its contribution to the teaching of the original text: is it a way to offer a sensitive experience through the medium's potential in reinventing the forms, or a matter of providing a representation that helps to interpret the reading? The production of the Japanese animated feature Night of the Milky Way Railway (Ginga tetsudô no yoru, Gisaburô Sugii, 1985) is emblematic of these issues. Based on a complex novel written by Kenji Miyazawa (1896-1933), a popular literary figure in the country, the studio Group TAC embarked on a creative process that emphasized the construction of meaning as much as it maintained some lack of understanding during the screening. When the film was released in Japan, it raised many questions. A study of its visual and stylistic strategies reveals how much this adaptation involves the viewers in an ‘active’ mode of learning. Because the original story depicts a vague fantasy world, playing with a mixture of spiritual and scientific elements, the film promulgates this ambiguity by revealing the polysemic potential of animation’s resources.
