Rather than deal with script in the strict sense of the term, this article addresses the problem of "pretexts" that is, the textual precursors of the comic strip and motion picture film generally. The approach focuses on the transsemiotic comparison of two modes of textual foreshadowin; it seeks to identify differences between them ascribable to the specific nature of the medium for which each pretext is intended. In what respect does the film scenario or storyboard, on the one hand, and the comic strip, on the other, reflect their respective iconic and narrative orientations ? How do the expressive characteristics of a given medium manifest themselves already at the preliminary, precursive phase of their production ?

La construction du sens de la bande dessinée par des éléments imagés : peut-on encore parler de bande dessinée muette? de Thomas Blais-Leblanc propose un essai théorique et rétrospectif sur la création. Cette étude explore l’origine, la signification et la conception d’un projet de bande dessinée muette. L’objectif est donc de s’interroger afin de comprendre comment le muet peut être utilisé dans une bande dessinée et comment il s’insère dans la culture du neuvième art. Se basant sur les nombreux écrits de théoriciens tels que Jessi Bi, Umberto Eco et Thierry Groensteen, on présente un regard théorique sur la création d’une oeuvre muette et on étudie comment celle-ci s’y prend pour développer ses propres dialogues sans énoncés linguistiques.
