"In the studio" and the "on the scene"Analysis of television representations of the war in ex-Yugoslavia (Antenne 2 - France 2), which comes under the heading of the study of the production of information under duress, shows the division of labor between "studio" journalists and those in the "field", and the effects of this division on the way the information is handled. Despite the existence of different positions on the editorial staff, and therefore different perceptions of the event, the televised material produced on this conflict proved to be relatively homogeneous, actually favoring a humanitarian reading of the war which was satisfies the political demands as well as the economic constraints under which journalists must work.
