This paper discusses the importance and benefits of using forecasts as a decision support tool in estimating future demand for the retail industry. Surveys, conducted over time, show that its use remains rather weak in organizations despite the recent development of new tools whose efficiency and accuracy are demonstrated. The reasons for this underutilization and possible solutions are presented in this paper.

Florence Yvon-TranCraft industry and local commerce in pre-modern Vietnam from the 11th to the 19th centuryThe example of the village agglomeration of Phù Ninh (Kinh Вāс region) The present article seeks to show, through ancient sources (the chronicles of villages, Imperial annals, inscriptions...), the economic evolution of a village agglomeration, especially in the exploitation of medicinal plants, the textile industry and the changes in the face of local markets that were successively funded in this territory. Three phases of development may be distinguished: implantation during the Ly-Trān period of craft activities, and a "spontaneous" local market; expansion of the crafts sector with a growth in the volume of exchanges in the 16th and 17th centuries; for the period from the 18th to the end of the 19th century and particulary in the 18th century the acceleration of development in commercial activities.The analysis of Phù Ninh provides an insight into the economic evolution of "advanced" villages.

This paper is focused on Kungfu itself as a discourse which is closely related to technology and science. Kungfu movies made in Hong Kong are used to demonstrate how the technological aspects can be juxtaposed with the built-in technology of Kungfu, such as David Bordwelf's ideas of pause-burst-pause pattern, the expressive force of jumping, punching, the kinetic impact and expressivity, the kind of affects generated from rhythmic differentiality, the nuanced interconnectedness between fighters and their weapons, the kind of difference in intensity and rhythms based on the medical and scientific concepts of Qi Kung, etc. How Kungfu discourse can be used as exemplary of the concept of "Embodying technesis" will be explored.
