Academic institutions worldwide are seeking to play a role in the emergence of knowledge societies. Open science is one of the strategies these institutions are adopting to achieve their goals. It refers to the pursuit of scientific inquiry within a collaborative, interactive, or even interdisciplinary framework. Different approaches to open science include engaging in research based on community needs, creating partnerships with actors in the public and private sectors, making scientific knowledge widely and freely available to the public, and fostering connections between researchers in different disciplines and institutions. What is the current state of open science Quebec ? This article provides an overview of the situation in Quebec's eight francophone universities and reflects on the strengths and weaknesses of the province's network of academic institutions, with regards to its role in the emergence of a knowledge society.

Design Thinking (DT) is a method of collective creativity presented as particularly relevant for wicked problems. However, research on DT does not really take into account the open nature of wicked problems. We develop a model of a creative team's ability to address a wicked problem based on a comparative qualitative study of four DT projects. This research suggests adopting an approach that would enable a team to improve problem framing over the course of the process, create a climate of trust and produce intermediate research data to support collective debate.

As part of a collaborative research project on civic education, conversations between high school teachers and faculty were analyzed from the perspective of indicators of secularism, namely, freedom of conscience and religion as they relate to tolerance, equality of rights, fraternity, emancipation, separation between church and state, and law and order. The results show that, according to these educators, the role of the school is paramount to the learning of social behaviour and that some values related to secularism are actualized in the context of teaching history and civic education, such as the primacy of human rights, emancipation, and the importance of the public space.

Mathematics teachers, researchers and specialists in educational technology from Quebec, Canada developed virtual tools that make interactive simulations of games of chance. These tools were presented to a group of teachers from New Brunswick through workshops and they then got to test and validate them with their students. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with groups of teachers following the experimentation with the tools. Results show an appreciation of the rich educational potential the virtual tools bring and the pedagogical scenarios that come with them. Participants suggest that working with simulators would increase students' motivation and deepen their conceptual understanding of concepts that are otherwise hard to grasp. But they, however, lack professional development on how to teach probability and need techno-pedagogical and didactical follow-ups.

Replaced in the International Business field, issues that Atlas AFMI is committed to developing, for nearly ten years, are expressed over the themes for its annual conferences. The analysis of themes and methods of the 89 papers selected for its 2015 conference, organized in in Hanoi, on the theme of Transitions and international management, aims at highlighting the different lines of research that are preferred there. To analyze these contributions, the ESO framework is due to connect the key themes of the international environment (E), the strategies developed by the actors (S) and the organizational conditions (O). In addition to this framework, the PREST model locates the - macro, meso and micro levels - where are positioned the various contributions.

This article presents the results of an exploratory study of five secondary science and technology (S & T) teachers in Quebec on teaching models and modeling. The conceptual and methodological framework aims to analyze their teaching practices in terms of two dimensions: the epistemological dimension (what meanings they attribute to the models and the modeling process?) and the functional dimension (why they use the models and the modeling approach in the classroom?). The analysis of their discourse reveals that they have a partial understanding of these objects and their purposes in teaching and learning science and emphasizes the need for continuing education on these issues.

The process of working as a teacher and the constructs associated with it contribute to shedding light on the interdependence of fundamental didactic concepts. The results of a multiple case study on the teaching skills of experienced Early Childhood Education teachers at the college level reveal a didactic process supported by four phases: interpretation, representation, learning environments conception, and adaptation to the students' characteristics. The links identified between the key activities and actions shape interaction areas that clarify the notion of didactic construct by highlighting didactic concepts such as transposition, concept formulation levels, and scheme. Teaching skills as a didactic object are at the heart of a new problematization space: higher education didactics.
