Care assistants in nursing homes for the elderly are particularly affected by (MSDs). This article suggests comparing two approaches, one quantitative, the other, qualitative, to characterise the operational leeway offered to care assistants in a nursing home related to MSD prevention. The quantitative approach, based on data from a questionnaire aimed at characterising the perceived offered leeway, partly predicts the actual offered leeway. The qualitative approach, based on ergonomic analysis of activity, shows links between offered leeway and the possibilities for regulation to deal with difficulties encountered with residents. It can contribute to enhancing the questionnaire to make it more representative of the offered leeway. Characterising offered leeway through mixed methods appears to be an interesting tool for revealing factors to build upon and act towards the prevention of MSDs.

The objective of this article is to identify prevention actions carried out by stakeholders in a large post-secondary educational institution in Quebec and to understand their opinions about what form integrated prevention should take in coordinating prevention measures. A total of 21 interviews were conducted during ergonomic investigations. We met with four stakeholders – the occupational health and safety (OHS) department, the disability management department, union members, and department managers. The prevention measures reported by these stakeholders at the primary, secondary, and tertiary levels are presented, and the stakeholders’ portrayals of integrated prevention are documented. Given the safety-oriented OHS structure, the measures were also classified according to categories used in the OHS field. The analysis made it possible to consider the actions taken in terms of transformation goals, that is, with regard to the individual or the work environment. Definitions of prevention levels, depictions of integrated prevention, the OHS approach put forward in the institution, as well as measures to prevent health problems with multifactorial sources (e.g., musculoskeletal and mental) are discussed.

In France, as in Quebec, music mediation is a fast-growing professional outlet for music and musicology students, alongside research and teaching. Our experience as teachers shows that many are enthusiastic about this field, but report difficulties in articulating the objectives and values underlying training in mediation and training in musicology. This article is based on the accounts of musicians who are or have been trained in musicology at the CNSMDP, and members of the institution's student representative bodies. Analysis of these accounts first enables us to establish a typology of positions adopted in relation to the mediation/musicology articulation. Secondly, the article initiates an epistemological reflection on the relationship between musicology and mediation.

Research framework: In Belgium, euthanasia was made available to minors in February 2014. The request to die must be expressed by the minor and receive parental consent. It is regulated by an interdisciplinary process and support for situations of constant, unbearable and unappeasable physical suffering presenting no other reasonable solution in the context of an incurable condition. Objectives: Share reflections and recommendations on support for children, their families and teams in the context of euthanasia requests. They aim to point out the elements that this support has in common with any care process, but also those that characterize it specifically. Methodology: Since 2014, the pediatric palliative care mobile team of the Queen Fabiola University Children's Hospital (HUDERF) of the Brussels University Hospital (HUB) of the Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB) has met regularly on an interdisciplinary basis to examine and discuss the various aspects of the law. Results: The outcome of this dialogue opens up a field of reflection and guidelines for ensuring appropriate, regulated care. Its aim is to support all those involved in the emergence of a request for euthanasia. The aim is not to define a strict framework, but to propose generalizable benchmarks capable of ensuring dynamic, non-linear, collaborative and comprehensive care. Conclusions: Euthanasia is a process of care and accompaniment that follows the multiple rhythms of the people for whom it is responsible. A human and interdisciplinary constellation is needed to guide this process. Contribution: Euthanasia of minors in Belgium is a rare practice, little studied but never trivial. This article examines the exceptional singularity of this care process and the interdisciplinary resources needed to support it.
