Entrepreneurial finance is an area of research that would emerge almost 30 years ago and for which some leading researchers have proposed a research agendas with specific and challenging avenues. However, one can see from the census of hundreds of articles published, that the authors focused their attention on traditional questions of research often leaving aside the recommendations of experts who suggest in particular to include the entrepreneur in their work and also, to borrow from the literature in entrepreneurship theories and methods that can help better understand the financial issues of SMEs. The purpose of this paper is to discuss the work done over the last 15 years compared to the needs of specific knowledge in order to promote the creation and emancipation of SMEs, specifically through adequate funding. At the sight of what seems to be a gap between available knowledge and those that are desirable according to the OECD, and considering the context of change in the global business environment, we propose to researchers interested in contributing to the field of entrepreneurial finance, some research avenues for future work.

Between 2000 and 2010, predominantly Francophone political science departments in Quebec and Canada (Laval University, Université de Montréal, Université du Québec à Montreal and University of Ottawa) hired 81 new members. What were the main characteristics of these newly-hired professors? Where did they obtain their PhD? What is their mother tongue? In which journals did they publish prior to their hiring? How old were they when they were offered the position? Did gender, status in Canada, and ethno-cultural origin matter through the hiring process? The article provides answers to these questions by analyzing the résumés submitted by the candidates to the hiring committees. These data provide information on the evolution of the discipline.

This article looks at the governance of two highly migratory fish species: European eel (Anguilla anguilla) and Atlantic salmon (Salmo salar). Based on a long ethnographic field survey, this paper proposes to analyse the modalities of fisheries and stock governments in continental and ultramarine Europe (Western France and French Saint-Pierre and Miquelon Archipelago), demonstrating the globalisation faced by these species and their catch and consumption chains. As declining species, their protection was put at the top of the agenda in the second half of the 20th century, but problems appeared much earlier. Contemporary public action is therefore taking a close interest in these two species, and is trying to put in place, using various instruments, appropriate public policies. But these policies are often based on pre-existing policies, instead of being inspired by other modes of government, which are now being promoted outside the western political field by a growing diversity of actors.
