AbstractThis article examines questions related to the professional "mémoire" at the Institut universitaire de formation des maîtres (IUFM) and the concept of interdisciplinarité Based on a series of studies and research previously published by the author, she attempts to demonstrate the impact of this new tool for teacher training in France since 1991 and how this has developed beyond the intentions of the creators. This instrument concerns future teachers in second year at the IUFM, this being the year centred on professional training. While this production is not totally school based nor totally training based, it raises questions about the identity of trainers and trainees as well as about the meaning of the training project and the means for accomplishing this. It has led to activities that are interdisciplinary, transdisciplinary and integrative.

SummaryThis article details the stages of grounded theory analysis, a method of qualitative data analysis and an adaption-transformation of the grounded theory approach. This method allows for the gradual theorization of an empirical phenomenon through its codification, categorization, co-linkage, integration, modelling, and theorization. The discussion is illustrated by examples taken from the author's own research.

This study aimed to evaluate an interdisciplinary educational device designed to stimulate college students' development of interest for a French course. This device consisted of a pairing between a preparatory French course and a psychology of sexuality course. It has been evaluated through a quasi-experimental condition with control group and followed longitudinally. The results indicate a greater interest in the French course by the experimental group, a higher perception of utility, and better behavioural engagement and performance. These results support the effectiveness of interdisciplinary approaches.

From the first uses of databases in the 1970s to recent research on the analysis of audio files, musicologists have progressively integrated digital technologies into their working methods. However, while some software such as iAnalyse offers interfaces adapted to the human sciences, it has been observed that these technologies are still difficult to manipulate without a solid knowledge of computer science or acoustics. In this article, the author presents an interdisciplinary practice of research at the heart of digital musicology that covers a very wide field of activities ranging from the use of software to improve existing methods to the development of new methods that are necessary to study specific corpus. In this case, the deep transformation of the nature of musicological practice itself, the move towards a hybrid discipline and the change of perspective on a complex musical object highlight a real epistemological rupture.
