L’hippocampe joue un rôle important dans l'apprentissage et la mémorisation d'informations spatiales. Cependant, nous savons depuis un certain temps que des lésions à l’hippocampe engendrent des déficits qui ne sont pas attribuables aux capacités d’apprentissage et de mémoire, telles que des déficiences dans la capacité à inhiber une réponse comportementale et une difficulté à adapter ses comportements. Ces déficiences, qui rappellent celles associées à l’atteinte du cortex préfrontal, incluent des difficultés à imaginer le futur, à inhiber des comportements inappropriés, ou à prendre des décisions optimales. This article discusses the use of medical-psychological diagnostic categories in qualitative studies. We offer a reflective analysis of approaches that tend to frame their studies around diagnostic categories as a way of understanding individuals and their challenges. Based on scientific literature and our own scholarship on these topics, this text offers 1) a brief overview of developments in the subfield of mental health sociology and the place of diagnostic categories within it; 2) a series of critical comments on the use of these categories in contemporary scientific production in the social sciences; 3) proposals for taking into account in a relevant way the effects of the use of medical-psychological categories at the different stages of the research process.

It indicates that by the mid-nineteenth century, a system that frames the normative and prescriptive development of the child is put in place. Objectives The article aims to present two studies supporting the development of l'Échelle brève de triage RIFCAS en santé mentale0-99 ans, a measuring instrument used to determine – based on the level of customer demand, seriousness, and urgent need for intervention – the priority of a mental health service across all age groups.Methods Both versions have been subject to a measurement interjudge agreement that is compared against the judgment of professionals and other comparison tools.Results The results produced by the interjudge agreement reflect significant correlations with the priorities established by l'Échelle brève de triage RIFCAS en santé mentale0-99 ans, the judgment of professional experts and the usual instruments used.Conclusion The final version of the triage scale provides an objective measure for the priority that should be given to all mental health service requests – these encompass all recognized and essential clinical information. Clinicians can rely on a reliable and proven instrument to prioritize service requests before placing them on the waiting list. The use of this instrument facilitates the development of a common procedure between professionals and ensures a fair and safe treatment of users.

This enquête was built around a central argument, that of disability as a social problem. This central point quickly became obvious during interviews conducted for the article. All three collaborators refer to it, either as an assertion or as a thread in their thought process. Through comments made by composer and improviser Pierre-Yves Martel on his collaboration with the Impatients, musicologist and teacher Augustin Tiffou on his pedagogical experience with students with disabilities, and philosopher Eric Lewis on the digital instrument aumi (Adaptive Use Musical Instrument), social, ethical, and political responsibility form the basis of our reflections on creativity and disability in particular, and on living together as a community in general. In the interviews collected for this enquête, making music together appears as a very marked form of community living, and creativity opens a space where, politically, we can fight against the segregation of people with disabilities.

Les résultats d’études scientifiques indiquent que des enfants ayant vécu des adversités précoces de nature traumatique telles que la violence physique, la violence sexuelle, la violence psychologique ainsi que la négligence, auront plus de probabilité de développer une trajectoire de vie avec des vulnérabilités en termes de difficultés relationnelles, de problèmes de santé mentale et de stratégies de coping. L’objectif de cette étude sera de regrouper ces variables souvent étudiées de manière isolée et vérifier si cette trajectoire développementale se confirme auprès d’une population de jeunes adultes de la région de l’Outaouais. La pandémie a grandement bouleversé la population mondiale, et ce, dans plusieurs sphères du quotidien. En effet, cette crise sanitaire est venue affecter la santé de tous, notamment les habitudes de vie, et ce, tout particulièrement chez les adolescents. Au printemps 2020, ils se sont retrouvés isolés d’urgence à leur domicile respectif pour un temps indéterminé. Ils ont donc dû composer avec un nouveau mode de vie imposé, ne sachant quand l’école allait pouvoir reprendre son cours habituel.
