Abstract
In this third and final part of an interview given to John Rea in 1996 by this “thinker in music,” Niemantz reveals hitherto unknown encounters—both real and apparent—between Helmholtz and Brahms, between Brahms and Stravinsky, between Mann and Niemantz by way of Adorno, and between Niemantz and Gérard Grisey.
