Abstract
This article attempts to bridge the gap between the vocational aspects of simultaneous interpretation and the theoretical and empirical components of simultaneous interpretation by describing the benefits and the versatility of the shadowing technique when used as a pre-simultaneous training tool. Aspects of cognitive psychology and neuropsychological applications are incorporated in a variety of applied exercises.
Résumé
L'article vise à rétrécir l'écart entre l'aspect vocationnel de l'interprétation simultanée et son côté théorique et empirique par le biais d'une description des bienfaits de la répétition avec décalage (ou shadowing) comme exercice de partage de l'attention et donc comme exercice transitoire menant à l'interprétation simultanée. Ces exercices incorporent certaines notions de psychologie cognitive et de neuropsychologie.
