Abstract
This article provides a bird’s eye view of interpretation and translation education in Korea. It begins with a historical overview of the training of interpreters and translators in Korea. It then reviews the curricula of graduate schools in Korea which offer courses in conference interpretation and technical translation.
As communication competence becomes more important in the information and globalization era, more and more universities have begun to offer interpretation/translation courses at the undergraduate level as well. A brief description of the interpretation/translation track at the undergraduate level is also made together with a comparison of other Asian regions.
