Oranges
Susan Glickman
Light you can eat!
and like all sweetness best leavened by a tang
of acid
the pucker in the kiss
mwah honey, you are so bad
it makes me feel good
cereal is for kids
eggs for truckers
bacon for farmers
toast for grannies
but oranges
are for lovers
no matter how carefully you undress them
it’s always a bit messy
their scent on your fingers
for hours afterwards
