Martin Munro

Martin Munro is a lecturer in French and Francophone literatures at the University of the West Indies, St Augustine (Trinity and Tobago). He works on Caribbean literature written in French, particularly Haitian literature. He is the author of Shaping and Reshaping the Caribbean: The Work of Aimé Césaire and René Depestre (2000) and of The Missing People: Exile and Post-1946 Haitian Literature (forthcoming, 2007), and coeditor of Reinterpreting the Haitian Revolution and its Cultural Aftershocks (2006) and of a special Haiti issue of Small Axe (September 2005).

Martin Munro est assistant professeur de français et de littérature francophone à l’Université des Indes Occidentales, St Augustine (Trinité et Tobago). Il travaille sur la littérature caribéenne rédigée en français, en particulier sur la littérature haïtienne. Il est l’auteur de Shaping and Reshaping the Caribbean: The Work of Aimé Césaire and René Depestre [Former et reformer la Caraïbe. Le travail d’Aimé Césaire et de René Depestre] (2000) et de The Missing People. Exile and Post-1946 Haitian Literature [Les absents. L’exil et l’après-1946 dans la littérature haïtienne] (à paraître, 2007), corédacteur de Reinterpreting the Haitian Revolution and its Cultural Aftershocks [Réinterpréter la révolution haïtienne et ses contrecoups culturels] (2006) et d’un numéro spécial de Small Axe consacré à Haïti (Septembre 2005).
