Abstract
This article tells the tale of an encounter between a Brazilian candomblé family-of-saint and an anthropologist in the context of a participatory study that was based on the production of three documentaries. It presents the analysis of the filming of one of the three documentaries and of the changes over time in the relationship between the participants and the researcher in charge of the project. It also gives an account of the reciprocal resubjectification that occurred between the participants. The goal was to understand how the coconstruction of images went beyond simple images to attain, in specific circumstances, intersubjective and political levels.
