On december 1736, the marroons who lived in the North West of the Guadeloupe and the runaway slaves of Grande Terre decided to rebel. As they their plans were opened, they stayed quiet. However the settlers who had been quite alarmed went to marroons stalking during all the year 1737. A first trial took place on may 1737 and sixt sentences of death followed it. A second one bex in the beginning of 1738 and about an anthropophagous case ended in the same way. This episode which makes us know very important details about the marroons of the Guadeloupe, stopped the growth of those runaway slaves during some scores of years.
