Abstract

Fiction does not lack means to overcome the torments of the human condition, from the prosthetic wings of Icarus and the almost invulnerability of Achilles to the implants of the Bionic Woman and the exoskeleton of RoboCop. The idea of body alteration or perfectibility resonates even more in our time, which sees the specter of cloning and the mutations that flow from it looming. Then, two definitions of the human oppose each other…
