Résumé
Cet article étudie l’adaptation à l’écran, par Claude Grenier, de la nouvelle «Le vieillard et l’enfant» de Gabrielle Roy, en tenant compte de l’étape-clé du «processus transformationnel», le scénario de Clément Perron. Il s’attarde longuement aussi à l’étude du scénario inédit écrit par Gabrielle Roy elle-même, développant une réflexion sur les rapports entre littérature et cinéma et le problème de la «transmédiatisation».
Abstract
This article studies Claude Grenier’s film adaptation of “Le vieillard et l’enfant”, the short story by Gabrielle Roy, including the key stage of the “transformational process”, namely Clément Perron’s screenplay. The article also examines in more detail the unpublished screenplay written by Gabrielle Roy herself and reflects on the relationship between literature and film, as well as the whole question of “transmediatization”.
