De l’« Educational Technology » à la technologie pour l’éducation

Résumé

Dans la société actuelle, caractérisée par une complexité croissante à la fois au niveau des savoirs et des relations mis en jeu, apprendre à apprendre et surtout éduquer à s’éduquer constituent la mission la plus ardue et aussi la plus essentielle de toute institution d’éducation. Au-delà du besoin d’information (« en savoir plus ») médié par les ordinateurs, par les réseaux, nous tous avons un besoin fondamental d’éducation auquel les technologies de l’information ne peuvent à elles seules répondre. Ce n'est qu’en inscrivant ces véhicules d’information dans la relation pédagogique, visant à favoriser une démarche d’apprentissage personnelle et active de la part de l’apprenant, que ces outils peuvent être le support pour développer les compétences transversales de l’apprenant, dans une perspective de technologie pour l’éducation. L’interactivité fonctionnelle de l’outil trouve ainsi son sens dans l’interactivité relationnelle de la situation didactique.

Abstract

In today's society, which is marked by the increasing complexity of knowledge and of the relations involved in knowledge, teaching how to learn, and above all educating for self-education, constitute the hardest and most critical mission of any teaching institution. Beyond the need for information ("knowledge plus") that is addressed by computers and networks, we all have a fundamental need for education that information technologies alone cannot satisfy. lt is only by integrating these information tools into the instructional relationship, with the aim of promoting the learner's individual and active learning process, that they can be made into a support for the development of cross-disciplinary competencies, within a perspective of technology at the service of education. The tool's functional interactivity is thus framed by the relational interactivity of the instructional situation.
